Is anyone participating? It's tomorrow and I'm waiting for approval, but I'll be doing that this year. It'll be nice to have her with me. :)

It's actually sons and daughters at my company and most others that I know of. My DD is too young to go but I'm running the afternoon session of my division. Pray for nice weather because we have some fun things planned outside in conjunction with Earthday.

We do both sons and daughters too. We just got notification on Monday that we were doing this. The company I work for usually does a day long program for them. They get to work the registers (not for real of course) they go into the bakery and make the parents desserts, they make coursages in Floral and a few other things. They get to spend about 1 hour in a department with their parent as long as it is not a perishable food department. If the parent works there they go "work" with someone else for a little bit.

We are not participating because Thursday is my day off. I usually run the register part of the day and I have no clue who is doing it this year.

Not even sure if they'll have any kids because they didn't post a notice baout it as of 7:00pm yesterday. I only know because i am involved in the planning stages.

My DD is going with DH tomorrow to work. He's a manager at a grocery store and my DD just loves to play "store". She went last year and had alot of fun. She can't wait!!!

Nope..tomorrow is take your daughter to the Red's game at my house...got free tickets from work...hope it doesn't rain..

DH's company participates in take your child to work day. This year, though, they changed the date. Instead of doing it on the "official" day, they are doing it during the summer. There were too many schools who wouldn't allow the kids to participate and parents who didn't want to have their child miss a day of school.

DH's company (a major credit card issuer) goes all out for the event. And, the kids have to write essays about what they learn -- it's truly a day at work. Also, because of the confidentiality involved, the are really cautious regarding the information they child can take back to school.

I used to take both kids with me to work, but as they've grown older, they are less interested in following me around. One year Sarah really wanted to go, but it was the week that I had been tapped for jury duty and, on the actual "Take Your Daughter To Work" day, I was in a courtroom as part of the jury selection process. I almost took her with me, but I was afraid that I might get slapped with contempt of court.

And I won't be at work tomorrow as I am still at home healing from my broken bones. I guess the kids could stay home and watch me telecommute.

As far as my wife taking the kids to work with her, she has done that since they were babies. They have worked alongside her at the flowershop on many occasions. I'm not sure that either one of them is interested in a career in floral design. Come to think of it, I doubt that either one will become a software engineer either.

Well, techincally...yes, I am :) I don't have anyone to watch Miss Maddy tomorrow, so she's going to come to work with me ;)

Mo is going with me tomorrow for a few hours. She is going to LOVE it. I can't wait!!
