Take or Rent Strollers?

My DH and I are taking our 2 yr old DS and 11 month old DD to Disneyworld. At first I planned to take two strollers that would be comfortable enough for them to nap in, etc. Last night, however, I remembered that we will have to go through airport security, etc. with the strollers. With one child per adult, folding the stroller and putting it on the belt might be a nightmare.

Has anyone used the rental strollers and can tell me if they are comfortable for two toddlers to nap in if necessary? I've never used them before.

Thanks for your advice.

I have always brought my own strollers. The airline has always let me keep the kids in the stroller till we get to the plane, at which time they are stored somewhere on the plane. When you get off, the stroller is waiting for you. This is a wonderful thing (the kids stay put and can't get lost). Going through security has never been a problem (even after 9/11). Although the Disney strollers are cute, they do not look very comfortable. I would bring your own, especially if the kids are use to napping in them. The last thing you need is over-tired kids.
Good Luck.

The alternative is renting from A Baby's Best Friend, which rents really nice, clean strollers. You can see them online at www.abbf.com.

One thing to think about is whether your kids require strollers that lay down in order for them to take a nap. SOME of Disney's strollers recline, but some do not (they're different in each park). If your kids are like my daughter, it won't matter...she sleeps sitting up just fine. However, if they're like my son, it will matter--he HAS to lay down to sleep (on his stomach, even!). So, we are bringing our own stroller so we always have one that reclines.

Also, if you rent at the parks, you have to turn it in before you leave the park, so you won't have a stroller for the way back to the car, etc. Also, there are no stroller rentals at Downtown Disney if you plan to go there for shopping/dining.

I find my kids and I like to have ours, but if it's just too much to bring, I'd rent from A Baby's Best Friend as another poster mentioned.

Your two year old should be fine in a rental but depending on the 11mo maybe?? Take a peek at wdwig.com at the stroller faq's and they have picures of the doubles avail at every park. If you think you can manuver the airport w/o a stroller you can just check the stroller through with luggage. If not maybe take one stroller and gate check that and rent or check the other through with the luggage. Either way you will probably want one stroller for to and fro the bus stop, dtd and the resort areas.

We always take our strollers. We take an umbrella and our Sit N' Stand. $75 a Week for rentals is too steep for me. We also like the convenience of the strollers around our resort as well as the basket for storage.

We went last August with a big double stroller "limo" type and it never was a problem in airports or security checks. It was a "life saver" when exiting the parks with slept kids, and used it in Downtown Disney also.
Don't forget to bring a foldable plastic cover in case of rain!

With kids that young, I say "take the stroller." Any inconvenience at the airport security line will be far out-weighed by the comfort of the children having their own space.

I think you will find the TSA agents will be experienced with parents and strollers and will guide you through any difficulties if they arise.

We decided that we are not going to bring our stroller this trip for dd (2). It was a real pain to try to hold onto her and everything else on the Disney buses depending on seat location. We plan to just rent them at the parks if needed. Of course, she never wanted to be in a stroller in the first place while we were there in July. She walked or wanted to be carried. However, an 11 month old is quite another story. I guess, in your case I would bring the stroller.
