I was wonder if you can get a take home or doggie bag at the buffets?

I ask cause thinking about taking DS 2 to Disney and he doesn't always want to eat when we do and I was hoping to be able to grab some food to take from our Character meals so when he does finally want to eat which isn't much I can just give him some from the doggie bag.

Ditto PP. But that said, I have taken a random banana here or there from buffets (in general, not just WDW) for my kids to eat later. My daughter is a huge grazer, which is yet another reason for our family to not use DDP this time.

The PPs are correct. No doggie bags, take out containers etc. I'll grab an apple or banana to take with me, but that's it.

No takeout from buffets, although they will probably not say anything if you walk out with a piece of fruit or a cookie or two, just don't overdo it.

Nope, as everyone has said, no Doggie Bags.
Do you know of any buffet anywhere in the real world they give Doggie Bags at buffets? It is contrary to the whole prinicple.

Nope. I was in one buffet and there were signs everywhere that stated it was stealing to take food home with you.

See, what you do is.... get get a roll of Ziploc Gallon Storage bags.... and then what you do is, you take your purse... and you...

Oh, nevermind.

My brother in law booked a breakfast a Chef Mickeys for his two daughters, knowing they would be too excited to eat. He fed them in the hotel room before they left or breakfast. They loved Chef Mickeys, ate some fruit while they were there, and had a great time. My brother in law was fine with it because he knew he was paying for the entertainment and ease of meeting the charcters, not necessarily the food.

The OP's son is 2 - so she's not even paying anything for him the first place!

Agree with the others - no you cannot take a "doggy bag" from a buffet.

The OP's kid is 2 years old, they wouldn't be paying for him anyway. But yes, taking Ziploc gallon bags would be overdoing it.

You must have met my grandmother at some point over the years. :rotfl:

Like other posters, I've grabbed a banana or apple for the road. Sometimes a cookie or brownie (I love dessert, but can't ever eat it right after my meal...I need to move around a little first). But a single serving, never more than I can easily carry in one napkin/my hand. The point isn't to be able to eat another meal later in the day.

Though I would never ask for a doggie bag or to-go container at a buffet, we did have a really nice server at Cape May that offered to get us a couple of small to-go cups for our left over desserts. :thumbsup2

I think you are SOL. You can't take a doggie bag from a buffet for anyone, let alone someone you aren't even paying for in the first place.

I was absolutely kidding about the Ziploc bags.

Reminds of a musical called Tony and Tina's wedding.....hilarious....it's a "dinner theater" type musical where you attend the wedding reception. The audience are the guests..... the actors mingle around.... including an Italian grandmother who breaks out Ziploc bags and takes leftovers off your plate during the show.

Glad to see people can get away with a few cookies or something. I always get full so fast, but looking for something to eat again an hour later. Was hoping to grab a croissant or muffin to take with me in a napkin.

Probably the 20-gallon size.

Actually you don't need to use a garbage bag. They make really big Zip Lock
bags.
