It works great at gas stations.... boy would I love to see DVC do this, being that I am ONE POINT short for a trip.... and of course last year I had 3 points expire, which I would have loved to drop in a cup for the next DVC who needed 1 point to grab.

Think DVC will go for it???

In concept, it would be great, but since unused points go to DVC which they get to combine and rent out as cash nights, I doubt they would go for it.

The only thing they could do with them is divide the pot and give a free point or two to all DVC member acounts. I wonder how many points go unused??

Trust me we had 3 or 4 points left over last year and didn't bank them!!!! I wish I had known that someone needed them cuz I would have given them to them!!! I think your idea is a cool one!!

Personally - I'd like to see Disney set up the MAW foundation with a membership and allow us to donate unused points and get a tax credit for a charitable donation

Tha's a great idea. Also, it's not much, but folks could always rent the few points they need or don't use. I'd do it only for transfer and even probably give my point(s) to a fellow DVCer if I wasn't using them and they would just go to waste. Maybe someone here will donate a point to you.

Why not start a take a penny leave a penny board and we could do it ourselves. Kind of how the rent/trade board is set up.
I bet it would become real popular and I bet other members would go for it if there few points left would be expiring anyway. It seems like a great thing for members to run since we would be the ones benefiting and we could see on a board what would be available.

I am a new member but this would be a great idea. I would definitely participate as I can already see that there may be times that you might end up with some points that would evaporate or on the flip side, you come up short 1 or 2.

I agree it's a great idea. I have 4 points left that will expire and I'd love to donate them. Also I know one day we will be short for a couple of points and it would be great to know there's a place to go...

This would be a great idea, awhile back we had a thread for members with a few points left over and a few members that needed a few points. But of course this will only work if the points can be transfer & you can either transfer out "OR" in per use year. Other then that this could actually work, maybe this can be posted on the rent/trade board for members only and i only say that because we may get a renter that would like to take advantage
of the offering and ask for the points to be transfer to their imaginary dvc account or try to find a member to collect a few points here and there until they get enough points to make their ressies.

This leads me back to members & non members renting points, this is my own opinion. I think that members should be able to rent points at a lower rate then non members, so what every the point hike is for non members, members should be able to get some kind of discount, especially if the points are going to be transfer. We(members) all pay dues every year & non members dont pay dues and members are paying the same rate as non members. Plus the security of members renting points and knowing the rules and the value of your points, not to cancel their ressies at the last min and putting your points into a holding account. I am not saying renting points to another member at dirt cheap rates but a little cheaper then non members, who knows we as members may all in the same postion that we need to rent more then a few points.
