We'll be coming from Downtown Disney and heading to Hyatt Place Northwest near MCO (Forbes Place). Google maps is showing 528 as the more direct route and 4 miles shorter than 417.

How's the traffic on 528 versus 417? It will be a Tuesday night around 7 pm.

TIA

It's not the traffic on 528 ( but in general heavier than 417 ) that could be a problem, but the traffic on I-4 to get to 528, which could be the bigger problem. If you do hit traffic on I-4 you will wish you drove the extra 4 miles.
If you choose to use 417, you would simply drive thru the airport and out the north exit, turn left on N Frontage Rd and then right onto Forbes Pl.

417 is the best way to go. Less traffic and faster to get to WDW. Its a 30 minute drive. 528 is a good 45-50 drive because of traffic. Plus if you need to make a grocery store stop there is a Super Target right off of 417 at Orange Blossom Trail - you can see it from the highway. Easy on/off the highway.

417 is a toll road so take a roll of quarters with you. I believe the tolls is $4.00 each way but I think its less than that.

Thanks. This is exactly the information I needed. It's 417 for us. I'm not at all familiar with I-4 but it sounds horrendous.

At 7:00 pm on a Tuesday I wouldn't worry about the fairly short stretch of I-4 you have to travel before hitting 528. If it was earlier then I'd agree with the majority here about 417.

Agree, and as a local (hate to play that card) you would be going out of your way by taking the 417. It is literally a straight drive from the downtown disney exit on I-4 to the 528 exit. And like OKW said, at that time of night there will almost certainly be no traffic.

528 is the way to go.
