Tahiti - Lagoon Side at Polynesian

We are requesting a room in the Tahiti longhouse on the Lagoon side when we stay at the Polynesian next week. Has anyone stayed there before? Can you tell me if this is a good or bad idea?

Also, is it a good idea to request this room before we get there?

I will not stay at the Poly if I can not get the Tahiti! They have the most AWESOME lagoon views (we watched wishes every night on a swing and hammock from the beach) and the garden views are the best also. I just wanted to add that the Tahiti has the largest rooms at the Poly (Rapa Nui and Tokelau has these rooms too) and trust me....you can tell the difference, it is wonderful. Tahiti also has a double sink in the bathroom

Ditto from me! I won't stay at The Polynesian unless I'm in Tahiti as well!

I wanted to try concierge next trip, but I can't imagine NOT being in Tahiti...it is so private down this end of the beach and like TiggersMom said, the rooms are noticeably larger and have bigger bathrooms with double sinks.

Tahiti is amazing!

I echo the other thoughts. If I don't stay concierge, tahiti is the place to stay. The beach is alsmot private.

just a note...

Tahiti may be in rehab. starting in April, so some of the room will not be available at any given time. ('rehab' sound's like it had too many Lapu Lapu's at the volcano bar!)

We stayed in Tahiti when it was Moorea. The room was large, the bathroom was large and it was great. We had a third floor room with a balcony looking out towards the Lagoon and the MK. Our nieces loved it.

We loved our room in Tahiti. The balcony view of MK was awesome. We spent many nights sitting on the balcony with a drink watching the castle change colors.

Hi, all, just returned from a week at the poly 1-22/1-29 and had requested Tahiti for our lagoon view. Was told that it was going into rehad as of 1-24 so we had to go for another longhouse. Tuvula 2nd floor room 2412 was excellent had greet view of castle and wishes everynight from the room along with great view for electric water parade.

So it looks like they maybe starting Tahiti early. That's good new for me. Dh and I may have a quick trip down in May and really wanted Tahiti LV.
