Okay, just ignore that I got to see Eric Clapton. (ohana, I will answer your post on the Island.) I expected a little envy or something here on vacation, but that's fine.



[color=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/color] - so sorry for the poor kid on that last play... what a bummer for him, and for the team. But with the good coaches you have, it's still been a great time for them, I'm sure. The story about the other coach getting , 'bout time is all I have to say!

Deadheadbelle - congrats on 2000. When is the party starting? Also, I like your philosophy on AP's... don't know if it's true, but it makes sense to me.

Lewski709 - any news on that family? Let us know if there's a fund set up or anything. I'd like to contribute a little.

Cheeringmom - Happy Birthday early! What fun. When a DH plans a party, it's really special ... sometimes they are party-planning challenged, particularly with surprise ones. I'm so glad he pulled it off!

Hey iluvtink! Where did you see Eric Clapton? Buckeye Lake? I love Buckeye Lake. Saw the Grateful Dead there a bunch of times. I don't even know if they do concerts there anymore. Or was it Polaris Ampitheatre? I hear that place is awful. DH was there for a Steely Dan concert about 10 years ago & they had a stop light type thing & if the sound got to "red", they'd cut 'em off. Too close to a neighborhood or something. Anyway, did he play "Can't Find My Way Home"? That is my most favorite Clapton song. I love it, love it, love it Did he play "Tears in Heaven"? One of the saddest songs ever written, I think. I don't even know if he performs it anymore, though.

Hey DHB - We saw him at Nationwide Arena, same place we saw the Stones. I've never been to Polaris, but there are houses very near by, so the red light thing doesn't surprise me. I'd never heard of that, though. I'll keep it in mind for future concerts.

We were invited to go sit in Fifth Third Bank's box, which was almost as far away from the stage as you could be. However, the acoustics were great from there, and with those big screens, it was more like sitting in the front row. He really is an amazing guitarist and I just love his 'tude.

Concert Review by Andy Hoffman

Once again I was privileged to see Clapton at his best. While Saturday night in Cleveland was great, this one was filled with much more energy. The audience was up on its feet more and Robert Randolph definitely could feel this and opened with a much more intense set.

Clapton started off with “Let it Rain” as usual and began a great night. When it really turned up is when Clapton’s Wife, daughter in arms, walked up the middle of the center isle and Clapton smiled at them during Walk out in the Rain, and then tore into an amazing solo. All the solos were intense, amazing. Also, the last 1/4th of the show, while I felt was played to just please the audience and still quit enjoyable, were revived to their full glory. Billy’s organ was much more involved with Badge which helped a lot, and Layla was out of this world. It also seemed as though Clapton was playing for his wife.

The Robert Johnson bit was phenomenal as well as the “hidden classics,” “Walk out in the Rain” and “Got to get Better in a Little While”.

The encore was nice, and this is when the full glory of the roadies showed. The Mic on Clapton’s amp was having some issues, and almost instantly they were out there and had it replaced. Nice work and a seamless transition. Also the light show is very well put together and well choreographed.

All in all, this was an incredible concert. Clapton was talkative tonight and just before the Robert Johnson set made a comment about Columbus feeling like his home down and made reference to his family. He also said 'Thanks' after almost every song. I am sure it is Columbus that owes Clapton thanks for such a fantastic and energetic performance."

[COLOR=66FF00]iluvtink[/COLOR], wow! That looks like a great show. Me & The Devil Blues is a GREAT song. Widespread Panic (my other favorite band) covers it & it is awesome. I can't imagine seeing Clapton perform it live. You are one lucky lady!

Good evening everyone, Today has been busy but quite fun. We took the children to a local park for the day which was good. But then I had to stay late at work to do some more work to make sure my things are moved into my new classroom. The teacher who I am swapping rooms with doesn't seem too bothered about leaving the room in a good state for me though! The room is a bit of a mess so I hope she gets rid of it tomorrow. I'm not going to be too happy if I have to spend the first few days of my holiday in work cleaning up a mess I didn't make. I have made sure my room is cleaned and ready for her so I think it is only fair.

OK, I'll pop back later to catch up. Dinner is ready, bolognese pasta bake tonight.

camp was good...well not really but I had fun. That counts!! And I scored a lot...I'm definatly getting practice in driving to the hoop...and I really like being center!!!
