You know all you teens, I just have to say thanks for frightening the begeesus out of me. I didn't get really into guys until about 8th grade and even then it was really just "hey, so we held hands, we're going out now, right?". After that, don't ask, because I was a terror. But you all give me glimpses of what I was like at 16 (I know you all are a bit younger than that and that's what frightens me). I used to write out song lyrics in my journals all the time, ones that reminded me of myself, ones that spoke to my evil boyfriend who treated me like dirt (didn't know it at the time 'cause that's what girls do - chase after the bad boys).
All I have to say, is Yikes, I am sooo glad I am "OLD" now. Those were great years and boy do I wish I had that flat stomach back, but the angst, oh the angst, and the uncertainty. All I have to say is that you are smarter than any boy in your class - its just a fact of genes at that age, don't argue with me here men - and that you are more beautiful without a guy on your arm. Stay away from the bad boys, pay attention to the quiet guys in the corner - they're the ones you're gonna marry so you might want to pay attention now and save yourself a lot of time and, well, angst, and don't spend your time trying to look cool - you are cool!
OK, carry on with the boy talk, just know that some of us married that really awesome sweet guy who had his head in the books all the time after spending their teen years dating the best looking, most athletic and popular guys in their schools.
