Bichon Barb we don't have a camper.. I would think that it would be easier with one..
We just have the van and the DVD player.. when the kids were little we would stop every 2 hours and make them run around . now that they are bigger we don't have to..
They watch movies, play game boy.. DH drives when it is dark and I ( leadfoot) drive during the day.

We leave early on Saturday morning. about 5 am, stop for breakfast at a Ponderossa in Scott IN, lunch is at a Steak and Shake outside of Nashville.. the we drive until we get past Macon GA.. about Tifton ususally..stop for the night and
The next day we get into WDW about 2pm the next day.

Having said that , last year i was on a Mission.. it was AP weekend for Mission Space.. so we left at 3 am and we could have arrived in WDW at midnight but we deceded to stop past Gainesville FL. and we got to Epcot at 9 am..

We may do something like that this year..

llebrekniT that is why we are DVC. and AP... costs me no money honey to do 2 weeks plus I cook in a lot..

we bought in 93 when DVC cost $53 per point.. not like now when it is $95 a point.

Back to cleaning and trying to get the kids out of here..

Danauk, wanted to let you know I got your email and could open the attachment just fine. (Also, I cleaned a little out of my PM box. Thanks for letting me know it was full.)

Good morning and thanks for breakfast geffric.

MIL called me about an hour before I really wanted to get up, but oh well. She wanted to tell me about all kinds of things regarding her anniversary party next month. She made me an appointement to get my nails done the day before and a hair appointment to get a pretty do the day of. Sometime this week she wants to take me to find something pretty to wear - it's a black-tie affair. And on Tuesday morning she wants me to meet her and her sister along with the florist at the hotel to talk about decorations.

Honestly though, the room where she's having the party doesn't need much. It's the same room at the hotel where ohanafamily and I had our wedding reception. It's got a fountain at one end and lights in the floor. One side is windows to outside, and the other long wall is lattice. (It's not your normal 4-wall enclosed hotel ballroom, that's what made me love it so much.)

ds_prop_lbby_01.jpg
This photo is from the hotel's website. The next one is from our wedding reception. It was taken from the 2nd floor where all the other ballrooms are. A friend actually got a picture of us looking down at the room from there - kind of like royalty.

QOTD: Who long do you usually go to WDW for on each visit?
When ohanafamily and I first started going to WDW together it was just for weekends - I was working on a project in Jacksonville so I would drive down and he would fly in for the couple of days, then it was back to work. (Another reason for the short trips back then, when I first met ohanafamily he never really took vacations. He told me he was forced to take time off of work on occassion.) Then we started going for long weekends, about 4 days. We've now worked up to 8 nights usually, though the trip we're taking later this month is 9 because of Memorial Day. The thing is, I find no matter how long we stay it's NEVER enough.

Cheeringmom, OMG, how horrible... PD, and I hope they get your meds straight.....

Welcome back kadaten...I look forward to meeting you in October.

My Mother just told me she is sorry she woke RRBB, and hopes she will forgive her...

OK, gotta get back to work. Mother's day is tomorrow and we are busy...

:bounce:

Hey, where'd everybody go? Was it something I said? Do I smell bad? I'm feeling like llebrekniT, talking to myself ...

Yup, I'm actually popping my head in on a weekend to say howdy. So... Howdy!

Welcome back Kadaten!

Good morning everybody...

No time for color, but I will bold...

geffric Thanks for breakfast... I need all the chocolate I can get!

RRBB I don't think you stink...

BBarb, kadaten, and Lewski I am the deepest shade of green anyone could be... I am almost physicallly sick that I am so dang tied down to home ... I have rarely thought that way until you started planning the Goils' Trip and now I am ruined... it's all your faults!!!
Oh, and kadaten, even though you have ruined me, I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful trip. I suggested after you left that different people each take a day to run you a summary, but I was ignored :( that happens a lot ;)

cheeringmom :scared1: :worried:  I'm so glad to know you are okay and not lying in a hospital. This has to be so scary for you and your family. You are in my prayers and I hope they get those meds straightened out right away... I'm with llebrekniT ... if you don't check in every couple of days, I'm gonna think the worst. PD pd PD pd (I don't know to do that PD gun)!!!

The song is really hard to sing and how anyone who does not read music is going to sing it I really don't know!

Danauk Well, if anyone trying out has seen the movie and heard the songs as many times as I have, they'd be able to sing it... now I can sing it, and I know the notes, but no one would ever choose THIS voice!!! :teeth:

QOTD: We have always stayed at least 5 days, with 6-7 being the norm. My first trip in college was a 1 day at MK (that's all there was back then) and we may have done a weekend a long time ago. I cannot imagine being there too long ... it hasn't happened yet. I'd love to try two weeks, and keep asking DH to check into DVC, but he looks at me like I'm nuts. I think I'm the only one in the family who would go to WDW several times a year, or even once a year, if that was the only vacation we could take.

Today, I hope to do nothing, as a Mother's Day practice run. I doubt if that will happen, but it doesn't hurt to dream. I would like to go out and buy bedding plants ... this Yankee spot is at least a month behind Nashville in timing for digging in the dirt ... and my fingers are itchin' to feel the warm earth. I'll check back in later.

I'll jump on that question real quick, then I need to get busy.

We usually stay 6 nights, but one time we stayed 8 and that was just right.::yes:: I really think it's best to stay at least 8. I think a certain personthatlivesinNYC is staying for, like, 10 days on his next trip! Color me very jealous!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_217.gif' border=0></a>

Ahem.... I feel the need to correct you missy. We're actually going for 10 nights and 11 days.

With that, I happily sing...: Niener, niener, niener!

Morning all. I haven't read thru the billion pages I missed yesterday but will try later. Had a horrible day yesterday. The bp med the doc put me on has been making me sick and my bp go straight thru the roof along with my pulse. Called the doc cause took my bp it was 151/108 pulse 161!! Yikes. He told me to come right in. Had an abnormal EKG went to the ER by ambulance 911 the whole works. Talk about a stresser. The baby was home with my son, sam needed to be picked up at driver’s ed and my dh does not have an easy commute home-he slugs-long story. Soooooooo to make a long story short, I spent 10 hrs at the docs and they didn’t do one thing for me. Wasn’t a heart attack-they think- no new meds etc so I need to call my doc back this am and see what is next. Anyway, gonna go lay down. Still tired from yesterday. Will try to pop in later.

Oh and to top it off. When we went to pick up my car last night from the docs parking lot, someone hit it!

Frustrating thing about bulletin boards is you make friends with someone but you can't give them a physical hug when something's wrong. Best wishes to you Cheeringmom. Be careful and stay healthy!!

iluvtink I know what you mean about everyone knowing the song in the film. The problem is that songs in stage versions of shows are slightly different to movies so it is not the same. If you try to sing the movie version it will go horribly wrong. When we do well known shows the first thing the directors always says is "forget the film the stage is different."
I guess I should start practicing then!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Good morning TAGLIKINS!

It's another beautiful day here in warm and friendly NC! :sunny:

kadaten Welcome home...we sure missed ya! Can't wait to hear all about your trip :)

Cheeringmom How frightening for you yesterday! I hope you're feeling much, much better and I, too, am sending buckets of PD your way. (Sorry, don't know how to do the pixie gun yet)

RRBB Thanks for the pics of the beautiful ballroom. I bet your wedding was incredible and I'd love to see the pics of you and ohanafamily looking down on the peasants ;)

Um....hold up there, cowboy....you haven't lived til you've tasted my MIL's fried okra.....not to mention her okra casseroles....can't give Joe the recipe because it's still a family secret ;).......shhhhhhhhhh

(well, she's actually my ex-MIL but I love her so much that I still claim her....we're still very close...

...AND she makes darn good okra dishes!):teeth:

I talked to my dad this morning and mentioned to him that at least I did 2 things right in the last five years (he is very critical of me). I found a better street to turn in get to his office froom his home, and I picked a good place to have my wedding; it must be good since that is where he is having his 50th anniversary party...

At any rate, back to work...

Actually Joe is the baker, I'm the cook. That said, okra will never see the light of day in my home. Ewwwww!!!

One time, I was at some restaurant known to make amazing fried okra. I'm always willing to give something a try if I think I'll hate it. So I order it, popped one in my mouth and I could barely swallow. If I could turn green, I would have. Yeesh!

Anyway, gonna log off. It's the first nice day in NYC so Joe and I are either gonna barbecue, take the devil for a walk, or go to a street fair.

Joe wants to bbq, I want street fair. We're gonna see who can sweet talk the other into what the other doesn't want to do...

OK, we are in a "TAG FAIRY" zone...

I posted a question on the tech support board about what happened to my Doggie Smilie (and the other missing 5). I took the opportunity to thank the TAG FAIRY for all of the new tags about Girls Crushin' on Boys. My post was deleted (unanswered).

I got a PM from Dan Murphy asking what happened to my post...He explained why, basically they weren't supposed to be on that list in the first place.

Personally, I go to this page for "Dis" Smilies...

But because of Mother's Day, I must say two really, really good things about my mom....

1. the day of my wedding......a huge wedding by the way, 11 bridesmaids, 300 guests, 7pm meaning black tie,etc :snooty:......my mom pulls me aside and tells me if I want to call it off, she will back me 100% and tell all the guests to go on to the club where they'll just have one big party instead of a wedding reception. It really shook me up and of course I went through with the wedding because my ex-husband and I were very much in love at the time.

2. 5 years later......I throw my husband out....many couldn't understand because he was so good-looking, charming and considered to be such a good provider.....well, he proved them wrong  Well, anyway, my mom backed me 100% and to this day has NEVER questioned me about this and never asked exactly what happened between us, although I guess it became pretty obvious. Divorce is hell for all family members and both our families supported me 100% so I feel like the luckiest daughter and ex-daughter-in-law in the world :teeth:

Ok, end of rant...

Moral of this story: My mom is EXTREMELY hard on me, but I know she respects me and most importantly, loves me dearly

Happy Mother's Day to Cadburysmom's MOM! :p
