Good morning, I'm getting ready for daycare as usual. I heard this morning that Maine's unemployment is higher than the national average. My daughter was very lucky to get her job. She applied MANY places and this is the only 1 that called back. Now, just need that pesky car to get her there. Have a good morning everyone.

Wow, she's very lucky. I have to tell you, I've been a bank teller for about three years now, and I have never seen so many unemployment checks as in the past six months to a year. It's a scary situation out there.

last dh told me what my oldset stepson asked my the other day.

stepson (in the kitchen making himself tea)

dh (walking by him to go outside)

stepson "dad why don't you have normal sugar?"

dh "what?"

stepson "why don't you have normal sugar instead of this powder stuff?"

dH "what powdered stuff?"

stepson "this stuff dad"

dh "that is powdered sugar have you been using that for your tea?"

stepson "yeah"

dh "where did you get it?"

stepson "here, next to the sugar."

Woah! Too many jumping jacks. I'm tired now.

Well, you did quite a few there. You need to start off small, and gradually work up to that many.

...thanks....but that's not gonna help me get a "Shaky, Shaky" tag....

it's been snowing here for a while but it's not sticking. this morning I had ice on my windshield. dh said that when he got to work there is one other guy that lives near us and the rest live in the next towns over and they were talking about the ice on their windshield and everyone else was looking at them like they were crazy. so I guess we were the only town to have ice?

Apparently you live in some sort of vortex that is ice friendly, whereas those other people, do not.

Its hard to believe that some of ya'll are still having winter weather. We have already hit 85 degrees here. These next few days are going to be cooler. But it is just because of the rain coming in.

85 degrees? HOLY CABOOSES! Color me jealous.

That's sad. My brother is laid off every winter. He started receiving an extra unemployment check of $25 every week. I don't know why they can't add the $25 to the check he already receives instead of sending another check. Seems like it would be less expensive to do it that way. He usually starts up work again this week, but looks like he will be laid off longer this year. He works for the same company as my husband. There is not much work to be done right now so my husband is doing the work my brother usually does. My husband is salary so he works all year. They usually get small raises in April. I won't be counting on it this year. We'll have to wait and see.
