I'm glad to know that they are looking at bettering the warning system. But I completely understand about not issuing a warning to soon. How many times have we seen an evacuation take place and then the storm either not hit or just swipe the area. When to issue a warning is such a fine time line. I couldn't imagine having that job description. I have heard that fact about the atomic bomb before. Isn't that incredible?! Do you know when this seasons predictions will come out?

Idol was better than the past 2 weeks, but that's not saying much. I wasn't really a fan of any of the singers, though some did well. Just not my style.

Ok, first of all, I think "bettering" IS a word.....isn't it?! Just sayin'. You know, coming to Smiley's defense and all....


Next: I tuned in to AI last night. Again. And I'm sorry, but I just can't do it. I saw one guy sing (weird head-band thing going on). He sang a song by Meatloaf. Meh. I like the song, but didn't like it sung with a creamy-soft voice. Meatloaf is just too one-of-a-kind. And, does it always take so long for the judges to make their rounds??!....oy! That's really where they lose me, waiting for the judges to comment and critique. I'm sitting there like, Um, can we just hear the next person please?!!

So, for those of you who enjoy it, I'm glad, but it's not my cup of coffee. I tried!

I'm getting ready to take DS12 to school. It's 5-below this morning. SO. Ready. To. Move.

This is a rant. A big one

Please tell me why....When someone admits to losing a job or ask for ideas on how to handle a credit situation that it turns ugly? Why do people automatically assume the op was living above their means and deserves what they are dealing with. No...this is not me. I was in a thread on the budget board. But I've seen it plenty of times on the CB as well. You know money only last so long when you are out of work. I could just go on and on about how this gets to me. What happened to compassion for our fellow man? Please Lord don't ever let me lose compassion. Yes there are stupid people out there that have done stupid things. But so many more are hurting that are just honest average Americans. You know, in my little corner of the world when you see someone that needs a helping hand...you just do it. Okay...I feel better now. I think....maybe a little.

AI was ok last night I think your right about the meat loaf song it was ok but I still like meat loaf version a lot better. but I did like the girls better last night then the guys there were a few that were ok but i did like Felicia and Lil Rounds the best.

on a different note at the end of this month I get a weekend to myself i wasn't crazy about the idea at first but i'm starting to looking forward to it. I have a co-worker that i'm going to go do something with and my dh suggested that i get my hair and nails done and get a facial or go to the spa or something he is so sweet.

Hey cheermom. I'm glad you are looking forward to your weekend. I saw your thread about it. I must admit I understand where you are coming from. I enjoy breaks from my family. But a whole weekend would throw me also. Glad you got it figured out. I'm sure you will have a good time.

Wow, two gals on here who hesitate at the opportunity for a weekend alone.....I must be in a real minority because I JUMP at those chances!!! I am actually planning a solo trip to WDW someday and that will be for like 3 or 4 days! I just love time to myself, I guess.

Smileybug I'm sorry you had such a rotten experience on the budget board. Like you said, we're supposed to be helping each other. Unfortunately I have found that many people over there who are debt-free and would never even think of using plastic, seem to elevate themselves above "the rest of us." If your kids are hungry and wearing rags and you are behind on all your bills and still making trips to Disney, then yeah, you have a problem, but don't judge others who are down on their luck over a job loss. *MY rant over!!*

I agree how are we to judge anyway? look in your own back yard first and what about this one "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all."
