Or, you might go to Starbucks and meet a friend and chat.....:rolleyes1

It was nice meeting up with you and LegoDad. Hope your day was productive.

Mean Queen. . .mmmmmm. . .Starbucks. My closest Starbucks is an hour away. . .Which reminds me, would you know the best Starbucks in Orlando closest to Disney on the east side of the parks?

I actually don't know of any Starbucks near Disney. :scared1: I usually grab one on the way out of town then just go without while at the parks.

good afternoon everyone :goodvibes:goodvibes

I have my kids play tonight :rolleyes1:dance3:

tomorrow is dd 16 bday party :eek::banana:

glad everyone is in a good mood and enjoying themselves

have a great weekend :goodvibes:goodvibes

ETA: my dad scared the crap out of me at lunch - i went to sonic to get everyone's lunch and while I was ordering someone opened my passenger car door and got in and I was about to pounce when I realized it was my dad LOL good grief!!

That would scare me to death! He's lucky you didn't just pound on him. Good luck with the play and the birthday party.

LegoMom, good to hear from you. It hit 60 today!

Nothing much going on but I am trying to fight off a sinus infection. I started the week with a weird virus and had awful chills for 2 days. Now I have a cold but it's creating sinus problems. Nose, teeth throbbing and now my ear hurts. I usually get ear infections with sinus infection. I am going to breath in some steam with apple cidar vinegar soon to help get things running. It sure would be nice to breath out of my nose. I wonder if Sudafed decongestansts work better than store brand. I've heard that even though it's the same ingredient, that it can be processed differently therefore not work the same. Anyone have an opinion on that? I have been doing things/working around the house inside and out nonstop for too long. I wore myself out and I have always been one that needs rest when I am sick. I really need to take it easy.

cheermom, good luck with the party.

Disney Mommy - I see in addition to sharing a love of Starbucks, we also share a love of Twilight and True Blood. Have you read the Sookie Stackhouse novels? After seeing the show, I read the entire series... 4 times. I am firmly torn between Bill, Sam, and Eric. My DD9 just finished the Twilight series (except the last book, too mature for her.) I'm starting her off right! ;)

Yes, I LOVE the books. I actually saw an ad for the show, where it said "based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels" so I went to my bookstore looking for the books and just devoured them. I finished all of them before the show even started. The show is different, I think. Much more sexual and graphic. They are both great in different ways.

Ooo...can I jump in? I love Twilight. And actually, I haven't seen True Blood, but I do like the Sookie Stackhouse novels. And I'm all about Eric. Especially in the fourth book. Oh my, my. :rolleyes1 Anyway, it took me until about book four to be really into the series. I just didn't like the writing style until then, and I'm glad one of my friends told me to stick with it.

I love Twilight, too. Yeah, I thought book 4 was really in a whole different class. Though Stephanie Meyers did handle the whole sex thing well. Not overly graphic. Although it was definitely more mature, I think she did a good job of remembering who her readers are.

Not yet. HBO isn't releasing them on iTunes or DVD until close to the next season. The show got me to read the books, but the books got me hooked more than the show. Though I am partial to most vampire stories. I loved Buffy and Angel. I liked the Anne Rice novels. I just prefer a little camp with my vamp.

I liked Angel, too. I think I have this whole vamp obsession thing going on...

I think you can see the shows on HBO.com. If not, try www.watchtrueblood.net.

Hey, I want to have a Starbucks meet, too! Anyone in Virginia?

I used to get near constant sinus infections, until I started getting allergy shots. My teeth and jaws would kill me! And it's miserable trying to eat when you can't breath. But the worst part (squeamish people, avert your eyes!) was when I would blow my nose and snot would fly out of my left tear duct! Not only was it gross, it burned! (Okay, fellow thread members, please don't kick me off the thread because I shared TMI!!)

The one thing that always helped was a neti pot. Have you ever tried those? It feels utterly bizarre, but once it's done, it's amazing how much better you feel. Even though I don't get infections anymore, when the pollen count skyrockets and I get to feeling bad, I break it out.

As far as medicine is concerned, my favorite has always been either Dayquil Sinus or Sudafed Non-Drying Sinus. They both seem to work very well for me.

:rotfl2: Sorry I don't mean to laugh at you, but the snot coming out of your tear duct made me laugh.

I used to have reoccuring sinus infections roo. It's been a problem for years. I went 11 mos without one and then had one this past Sept. I went almost 1 year due to singulair. It's been a great drug for me. Antihistamine's don't work for me plus they make my heart race. Singulair blocks allergens in a different way than antihistamines.

Yes, I do the neti pot every day. It helps termendously. It was difficult to get used to at 1st. I am also on Nasacort and 4 hour decongestants as needed. I did try allergy shots until I had a very scary rare late reaction. I had to stop.

Isn't the Sudafed Non-Drying Sinus one that is located on the shelves or do they have 1 behind the counter too? I have to buy my decongestants behind the counter. The ingredient ( Phenylephrine HCl ) in the decongestant on the shelves does nothing for me. In fact 3 different pharmacist told me that the shelf decongestant does not work for most people and some people were trying to lobby congress to take it off the market. My mother uses a non drying one from the shelves, but I think it's mostly the expectorant, Guaifenesin, that helps her. I'll have to check tomorrow if any of the behind the counter decongestants have guaifenesin in them and I will give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion. Have you tried Mucinex?

Dayquil now has Phenylephrine HCl too. I used to use it before they changed their formula.

Hey ya'll. Hey Lego Mom. No internet? That's a bummer. But at least you have Florida ... :goodvibes
I'm not in Vegas yet -- the 26th. Yay!

CreativeAmanda - I will be sure to post pics and details of my trip, so if it helps at all you can live vicariously through me. Oh, and History minor? That's so cool! :worship:

It's okay to laugh - my family also finds it amusing.

I did try Mucinex once, right before bed, and all night I felt like I was drowning. I hated it and will never try it again.

Boy, do I really need a weekend. It's been a rough week. I'm looking forward to tomorrow night and my facial at the spa. Relaxation, here I come!

Does anyone here watch DogTown?

Yikes, drowning feeling can't be fun. I'm very sensitive to drugs that may make you feel drowsy. I can't take Nyquil b/c I can't function for minimum 12 hours. I don't know if drowsiness is a side effect. I don't like the feeling of my heart racing either if that is a side effect.

I"ve never had a facial or been to a spa but it sure sounds nice.

Yes, I have seen DogTown. I also watch Dog Whisperer. I love Ceasar Milan.

Morning all! Today DD has to work on her science fair project most of the day. If she does it with no complaints, I'm taking her to see the Hannah Montana movie then having her friends sleep over. So, a day of torture overall for me. :rotfl2: I'd much rather join Disney Mommy for a facial at the spa. But since VA is a bit far from me, I'll have to skip. Maybe I can get out for a pedicure again soon.

::coughcough::

:wave2:

HI.

Well, well. Looky who stopped by to say hello. Where have you been young lady?

BTW - I managed to avoid the Hannah Montana movie by offering to start the sleepover early. We went to dinner at a Japanese steakhouse now the girls are playing Pokemon DS in DD's room. I hope they are so full they stay there all night. I may throw snacks in randomly to keep them quiet and happy.

Dealing with real life type of carp. But things have finally slowed enough for me re-emergence on the boards.

Yayyayyay!!!

I just returned from your neck-ish of the woods, by the way. The BF and I went to US/IOA/SW for 5 nights starting last Saturday.

I bet that was fun! I hope all your carp is cleared up. Life can be that way sometimes. :sad2:

It's like the Dis knows I'm sitting here eating half a chocolate Easter bunny while at the computer. It keeps putting the Weight Watchers ads at the top, trying to draw me back in and away from the bunny.

No joke. The boards are psychic. I get those ads too as I shamefully look at the Chinese we ate for supper. And, as is always the case with Chinese, I'm hungry again.

Okay, y'all are just having way too much fun over here.

We shall not discuss the three oatmeal cookies I just ate.

Are they healthy if I made them from scratch?

They're my last hurrah, tomorrow, I'm eating healthy. I swear it. Hold me to it. The Easter candy craze has ended.
