Did'ja know that you had to wait 40 seconds between posts? ::yes:: I just found that out.

Yes. I've been told that on more than one occasion. And not always because I accidentally tried to double post.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL!!

It's 65 degrees this morning.

:rotfl2: 65 degrees is far from a snowy picture. :rotfl2: Cute pic though. It's 54 here right now. That calls for shorts with a sweatshirt for my son. The kids I see going to the bus stop are in shorts and short sleeves.

Morning all!

My BF and I were in BOB's over the weekend buying him a pair of jeans for work and while he was trying them on, this girl came walking out of the dressing room and handed her mom the teensiest tank top and shorts that could've doubled as a band-aid and said, "I think I just found my first day of school outfit."

1. I'm NEVER having daughters because they will hate me for sending them to school dressed in long-sleeved, floor-length woolen dresses. What is it with everything being skin tight, too short, low cut and falling off their rear ends lately???
2. Our school was ALWAYS cold! Considering about 95% of her skin was likely exposed in that outfit, the school nurse would've probably been treating her first case of frostbite by 10 a.m.
3. I wasn't surprised the mother didn't say anything. Her tank top was cut so low that, well, her cups runneth QUITE over.

Seriously.
Never.
Having.
Daughters.

:scared1:

I have boys and am SOOOO thankful..... :worship: :worship: :worship:

They are their own kind of challenging but at least we don't have the clothes thing (or lack thereof, apparently...!)

.

Tink, :rotfl2: good luck with the never having daughters thing. Mine is 17. I don't mind short or fitted clothes as long as body parts are not hanging out. I wore mini skirts. No need to be showing butt cheeks or 1/2 your chest though. Please keep them covered at school.

Then you should turn your AC up. :thumbsup2 65 degrees won't hit here for another few months. :sad2:

Tank tops aren't allowed in schools in our county and shorts have to be a certain length. When I was in high school, we weren't allowed to wear shorts. Not a great idea in Florida. But I do see where some take the warm weather clothes too far. My DH will be very restrictive in what our girls wear. I will be a bit more lenient, but more in their creative expression than wearing nothing.

My bil and sil who live in Miami would be wearing their winter coats right now.:rotfl:

Well, good luck with that.

No shorts in Florida :scared1:

DD6 wore a jean skirt yesterday. It was about 2 cm (yes cm) above the knee. Dh said it was too short. :rolleyes1

The schools here have pretty good dress codes. :thumbsup2 I feel pretty much the same way SadieDog does. Short or fitted is okay as long as no cheeks or chest is exposed.

I'm telling you, these shorts were about 6" worth of material from top to bottom. And if that's exaggerating, believe me, it's not by much. If I'd had a ruler handy I'd check...

I understand that fashion is what it is and that kids, especially girls need to be "IN" with what's going on, but it seems like a lot of it is very extreme as of late. (Wow. I feel oldish right now.) We saw another girl walking in front of us in the parking lot and the bottoms of her rear were exposed with every step she took.

And I don't mind snug, but some of this stuff is t-i-g-h-t.

I guess I should've added that the whole thing that really pushed me over the edge and has had me thinking about this was that after we saw the girl and her outfit, we walked past a display of skirts about the same length as the shorts. They were also pleated and plaid. A couple of older guys, mid-20's I guess, walked by them at the same time and said something along the lines of not minding dating freshman girls when they were in HS if they'd been dressing like naughty school girls in skirts like those.

I choked back the vomit.

I'm a worrier. And I don't even have daughters. Granted, if we did (and that responsibility is all on BF) I likely wouldn't have too much to worry about. On an intimidation scale of 1-10, BF rates somewhere around 73.

Ahhh yes, it's like seeing into the future with BF in the role of father. LOL

I go by the old rule. Kids stand up. Put their shoulders back (stand in attention). Put their hands by their sides. If their shorts/skirt is the same length or longer than where the tip of their finger touches, then good. If not, then the skirt/shorts find a new home. Not on my girls' body. (BTW--same rule for my son, although he prefers blue jeans anyway)

Brrrrrrr! WINTER!!!!

I got up at 4:30 and it was 71!!

hehehe

it usually dosn't get about 90 till around noon

Lucky! I've heard San Diego has some of the best weather in the country, though you pay for it through the nose to live there.

It gets 90 here by about 10 a.m. usually.

Today is just beautiful!! Not to hot. And there was almost that "crispness" in the air. Fall, FAll, Fall :worship: :worship: :worship:
