Tag Reading system deals?

I must have been living under a ROCK before Christmas and had never seen the Tag reading systems. Well, now I have and I want one for my DD, she is learning to read in Kindergarten and this would be perfect for her. Do they ever go on sale (currently 49.99)? Have you seen them discounted anywhere?

My DD (also 5 and in kindergarten) got one for Christmas and really enjoys it. When we were looking before Christmas, it appeared that there were two models. The 16MB version holds 5 books at a time. The 32MB version held 10. (You can switch which books it holds using your computer, so it's not a limit of how many books you can own... just a limit on how many the pen will recognize at one time.)

Before Christmas, I saw some specials on the 5-book version, but I did not see any on the 10-book version. And now I don't see the 5-book version on the Leapfrog site at all. Maybe they're phasing it out. If so, you might be able to find it clearanced somewhere.

The 16mb version was clearanced at Target in July - not sure you'd be able to find them anywhere now. They did have a $10 off coupon on the Leapfrog site, but that expired (I ended up getting 2 of the systems - one for DS and one for his friend for $2.48 each after coupon)... SO, there are deals and sales out there - just keep your eyes open and look around. The Leapfrog site runs specials from time to time and their customer service is great if you ever need them.

I got my daughter one for Christmas and paid 29.99$ at target but that was a holiday deal. But this week target has the books on sale for 9.99$ and on the coupon site couponmom.com they had 4$ off coupons so two books only cost me 12$

Thanks guys, I'll keep looking. I see the books on sale at Target and on Target.com they must have been running a special on the pen sets too because they are all sold out, I'll find it eventually, thanks!
