Tag Fairy Question

Okay, so I've been on the disboards for awhile, but have never really understood the tag fairy. Do you have to sign up for one of those tags? I've also noticed different colors, some are moving....what's it all about?

See under lulukate it says "earning my ears". Well, some people have a quote or something in color, but I guess you can only get that if the "tag fairy" gives it to you.

Tags are (fron my understanding) little sayings under your DIS screen name...but I don't know how you get them.

The tag fairy is a benevolent creature with a wicked sense of humor that flits around the boards. Mostly she lurks, but occasionally she lets loose her wand and bestows "Tags" to some. These are the words in color under your username. Sometimes they move, sometimes they have smilies. It is fairly random and not often, but you can be assured that my 2nd tag says it all: Just keep wishing and saying stupid things! She has an uncanny way of finding the stupidest and/or most embarrassing thing you have said to put in your tag. Underwear threads seem to be a favorite of the Tag Fairy

And a warning, if you do ever get tags, then don't try to change them or add to them. Doing so will cause them to all disappear. Until then you can make your own tags under your username, but it will appear in black.

Tags are given to people who have either said something witty on a thread or have admitted something funny about themselves. If you look at mine...the Proud Redhead is from the Universal board. The TF came through one night and made all of the regular posters Proud Redheads. The other two are something interesting about where I live...at least I think it's interesting.

If you post on the Community Board...your chances of getting tagged are better since the TF is known to drop by on different threads. It's all luck really.

I think its kind of questionable how lots dont have tags, and others have multiple???? HMMMMM.........something is just a little off!

I think it is just that some say more stupid things than others!

I do know that the Tag Fairy doesn't like begging--but does like worshiping and chocolate . There are several threads on the Community Board dedicated to the Tag Fairy. You might want to check those out. But I don't know that any one on the "begging" threads have ever gotten tags from there.

It is really just a little sprinkling of Pixie Dust that happens occasionally. I know users with thousands and thousands of posts that have never been tagged, and I have seen a case where someone got a tag after their very first post.

Hang out, post, enjoy the DIS. If tags are meant to be for you, then they will happen.

Too funny! I was just thinking in my last post that you have about the same odds of being picked for a parade at WDW, but better odds of being tagged than getting a night in Cinderella's castle!

Oh no! Last time I drank margaritas I had one too many - so many in fact I spent the night in my friends bathroom with my rear end in the tub and my head in the toilet. It was quite a funny picture that no respectable person should ever have taken of them, but then again who says I'm respectable

I may not amuse the fairy-but I amused the bejeedles out of myself

the TF will show up when s/he is ready! and yes you can get tags by saying something that makes TF smile - look at mine - they are what I had said at one point.

and yes, we do beg!
