I know this is common with some, but I may attempt 4 nights with jsut me and the kids before our cruise in August, and DH arrive the day the ship leaves. I have never traveled without him, I'm more concerned on trying to handle an 11 year old and a 4 year old at the parks wither MK or Epcot, and the waterparks, we have PHP left with 1 park and 4 pluses. Next question, which would be the easiest to stay at, I love VWL (we own), but should I consider BWV or BCV, and was thinking of getting a car this time, probably budget, tht way I could get to the resort, pick up DH at airport on the Saturday, drop off at the port, and take DCL transport back to the airport! Does this sound feasible! Also I have never put the kids in the club/den things, but was thinking my 4 year old would love it and then do some heavy duty rides with my 11 year old?

I have gone to WDW twice without my spouse, actually it's once each without 2 spouses. Both trips were tagged onto business trips. I really had a great time. Talking about getting to do what you want when you want to do it. And the single rider lines rock.

But taking the kids without my spouse, now that's different story.
I would not want to take my/our kids without her and I would not want to be left out of a trip with the kids myself. It's a family trip.

If I had to, which resort would I chose? Hard to say, especially with a 4 year old. I have never used the childcare clubs either.
I did take my son when he was both 3 and 5 years old, but my daughter did not get to go until she was 7. And I feel that 11 is still too young to send them off on their own, but they will be bored doing the rides that the 4 year old wants and what do you do with the 4 year old while you and the 11 year old do E rides.

What about taking a relative or family friend, an adult, or a kid for the 11 year old to hang around with too. Just an idea to consider.

I have gone to WDW without DW with one of our kids but not both

I would choose either BCV or VWL for this trip:

BCV - SAB pool - will keep the kids occupied, central location - walk to Epcot, boat to MGM - easy access

VWL - close to activites at Fort Wilderness, "calmer" location if you want to keep the hype level down somewhat and always neat for kids to take a boat ride to the MK

Go for it, you will do just fine!

Thanks, I'm going to make a decision next week then try to get a room, I have 60 points that I must use by next March, we were going to do VB in February again, but its high point season next year because of Easter, so I thought I'd head down before our cruise, DH looked at me like I was nuts wanting him to take almost 2 weeks off! (were self employed and I'm dragging him away for 2 weeks in April, so another 2 weeks in his busiest time isn't cool!!!) But he's always been teasing me telling me I'm "Chicken" to attempt it on my own. My plan is one park day, 1 water park day, then the rest of the time at the resort. Should go pretty easy:rolleyes:
