Thinking of buying this as we plan on going to Disney in March and November of 2010. We do at least one sit down meal each day so if we spent $400 total it would seem to make sense. If you have it, do you use it? Would you recommend it?

Yes. I have one. Last trip I kept track of how much we spent for meals. It saved us $400 over the Disney Dining Plan. I plan on using it again for our next trip.

definitely worth it if you intend to eat at sit downs. We sit down breakfast and dinner each day - it certainly plaid for it's self on our last trip.

You can also use it at many lounges. ;)

We used the TIW card for our honeymoon and will be using it again in a couple of weeks. It definitely paid for itself in just a few meals. Keep it mind it will also give a discount for certain hoop-dee-doo shows as well. It can almost pay for itself right there! Another note is that the TIW card is good at a few counter-service locations as well (Animal Kingdom, All Stars and Pop Century). I highly recommend it.

It's definitely worth it for us. Not only do we get discounts on the bottles of wine with dinner, one meal at Victoria & Alberts just about covers the cost of the entire year on the card.

We had the TIW card previously but have since decided not to renew. You need to keep in mind that when using the card, while you get a 20% discount, they automatically add an 18% gratuity to the bill.

Also, the TIW card doesn't include most CS places - The only counter service places that accept TIW are:
The 4 value resort food courts
The POFQ food court
Artists Palette at Saratoga Springs
Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus and Flame Tree at AK

Of the table services, Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining don't accept it, nor do most of the TS at Downtown Disney. I also believe it isn't accepted at Yak & Yeti (it wasn't when we were there).

Also, TIW has blackout dates on New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Mother's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Eve.

For us, it really wasn't worth it as it basically just paid for the tip. Whether or not it's a worthwhile discount for your family depends on your eating habits. You will need to spend more than $375 at eligible restaurants to get any value from the TIW card.

I was thinking of not getting it as well, but we will be 4 adults this trip and I guess it might still be worth it since the cost is higher than we paid the last time. We might break even this trip but the next one it will be a real discount. A few of the TS that don't take it do give 10% off with the AP as a small help! (no liquor there and only good for up to 3 plus the AP holder)

I think it's only worth it if you spend a lot or have a lot of people. Df and I will be getting aps this year because we'll going 3 times for a total of at least 16 days. The trip will be when we're getting married and will have a lot of people with us. Using it just for 10 people at our "rehearsal" dinner will pay for it and the rest is just savings. True we're basically saving the tip that is a still a savings and we like sit downs and enjoy a cocktail.

Once you're past the $375 mark, it is all savings. You do save on the tax amout as well! We really saved a lot when we stayed at the values since their food court is included in the 20% off!! Have a great time getting married in WDW!!
