Does anyone know if the Tables in Wonderland Card will be available anytime in the future ?? We have always been Annual Passholders with the TIW Card because we spend most of our time eating and drinking around the world, but let them both lapse during the pandemic. I hesitate to buy a new annual pass not knowing if this will be an option. It would definitely make me reconsider the AP, the dining discounts on food and drinks with the TIW made for some major savings.

Most think it will NOT come back this year . Restaurants are just not ready for the program . Not enough are open.

I think it will come back BUT with a different name with different limits.

You can't bring back a COST based dining program until all the dining options are open and operating normally. I don't see any way to DDP or TiW until dining at Disney is back fully.

Does anyone know if they are still accepting TIW at restaurants, for those few folks who still have active TIW? Just curious. We still have a number of months on ours before it expires, and are expecting to use it in December. Wasn't sure if anyone is being denied. Thanks!

I'm wondering if an active TIW card is even a thing right now.... You know what happens when you assume.....

I was an AP holder with TIW. My AP/TIW was supposed to expire in April 2020. Anyway in March 2020, when the parks closed and then my April 2020 trip was cancelled, I called Disney and got my refund for the remaining month on my APs. I asked about TIW and the CM indicated I couldn't get a refund for that.

I was just presuming that AP and TIW sales halted in March 2020. I figured the last valid TIW cards were sold then and expired in March 2021 anyway. So I was thinking there shouldn't be any valid TIW cards floating around. When did you buy your TIW card?????

Ours expires early 2022. Let's just say there was a bit of a 'problem' that we resolved at Guest Relations, and their pixie dust extended our TIW a year to make the problem seem like less of a problem. Seemed like a good thing at the time - just before they shut down for Covid. Now we're hoping when we actually try to use it, it will be honored.

If I’m thinking correctly, TIW memberships were good for 13 months to begin with, and then they were were extended four months to compensate for the closure - for a total of 17 months. My TIW was purchased in December 2019 and expired May 31, 2020. 17 months from March 2020 (the date sales were discontinued) is August, 2021.

I do hope that TIW comes back eventually, though I cringe at what the new price might be. There is no doubt that I spent much more on table service using it!

It’s a loop though I think. If they bring back TIW, then more patrons, then more can open. Which comes first. Or is the reason they aren’t opening because they don’t have enough employees?

When I last used mine in May, the wait staff would only glance at the card then hand it back. I don’t think they were validating it in any way. However, since all the rank-and-file TIWs will be expired when you go in December, you may be questioned a little more if you try to use it. If GR gave you any proof of the extension, you may want to bring it with you.

So you can understand my concern if our TIW that expires in 2022 will be honored. We certainly are going to be an unusual case. I guess we'll see what happens. If they don't honor it, we'll make the trip back to Guest Relations to find a resolution. Heck, I forgot about the 4 months extension - I was just basing ours on the actual expiration date!!

Understood - we have the physical card with the 2022 expiration date! Can't do more than that. Again, not something that's going to make or break a trip, but curious if anyone else might be in a similar situation. Sounds like more of a unique situation for us.

Thanks.

Good luck and have a wonderful trip! :shamrock:

As much as I want to see TiW come back, I doubt we will see it until 2022 when all the restaurants are open.
same for DDP although, I suspect that will come back heavily modified or at a higher price.

What is a COST based dining program? Is there a reason it has to be in all caps? Is it an acronym?

Are you saying that if any restaurant is closed, these programs cannot exist? Because the programs have existed many times when it's not the case that "all the dining options are open and operating normally." There is no way that can be the requirement.

COST - just to emphasize, is when guests pay money over and above the normal cost, expecting a level of service in dining. With the DDP, I would expect a full range of restaurants and the reasonable ability to book a table. Currently that is not happening and not possible. With TiW we pay a very large amount of money for discounts at a full range of restaurants and if they aren't open or fully open, then my options are less than I paid for.

And, yes, it is my opinion that Disney will not bring back these programs until they are basically fully open for table service dining guests. The grief they will get from guests if the offerings are small or it is difficult to get a range of ADRs is not worth it. Getting ADRs right now is a real issue. Of course with Disney it's never say never but there seems to be no hurry on their part to start selling these options.

Neither the DDP nor TiW is an example of a program where guests pay extra money for a premium service. Both are simply payment structures, which can reduce the price for some guests in some circumstances. They are just price based offers.

I do agree that the value of these offers is harder to capture when it's hard to get dining reservations, but how "open" things will need to be for the programs to come back is still very much TBD.
