I just read that DVC members with an annual pass can purchase Tables in Wonderland for $75. My question is if we want to book a restaurant that requires a credit card how do you book it if you won't get your card until you are at the park?

TIW has nothing to do with being able to book a reservation. Just go online and book it.

Certain meals (like royal table dining at the castle) must be prepaid. When you get to the restaurant, you can change your payment. If you have the DDP, you can use 2 credits for it, and the cost is refunded to your card. If you have the TIW card and it is one of the restaurants it is accepted, then I would assume the difference in cost would be refunded back on your card.

You make your reservation for your meal using a credit card to hold the reservation. When you get to disney, purchase your TIW card. When you arrive at the restaurant, they usually ask if you are on the DDP, just tell them that you have the TIW card. Simple!

Many restaurants at WDW now require a deposit to hold the reservation, your credit card is not charged unless you don't show up.

You present your TIW card at the end of your meal, the CM may ask you if you have one when they take your order. With TIW the TIP is automatically added to your bill and the only way to change the amount is to get a Manager.

I will be buying the Tables in Wonderland card for the first time and I am so excited to use it in April and August

Did this exact thing last August...my daughter booked Cindy's Table, and paid it in full on her credit card months before our arrival. At our dinner, the CM knew exactly what to do...she credited the whole bill (2 adults, 2 children) back to my daughter's credit card, and then charged my card the TIW-discounted bill (per my request).

I'd expected it to be somewhat difficult (I'd called MS ahead of time and they told me to take care of it when we checked in. At check-in, they told me the CM/server would take care of it. The CM did, without batting an eye. It was easy-peasy!)

I just wanted to point out that AP holders could always get a TiW card for $75. DVC members can now buy it for $100.

Yes, we purchased ours last year for $75 and we have DVC APs

Even at $100 it's still a great deal. We'll make our money on it spending $500 on food and drink which should be a non issue for the 6 of us on our 11 night trip.

The type of AP (Tourist, FL Resident or DVC Member) doesn't matter. It's having a valid AP that gets you the discount on the TiW card.

I have the TIW card and with those prepaid meals (Hoop De Doo, Cinderella's Table... etc) I have encountered a couple of ways where you get the TIW discount. You can get the discount at the time you make the reservation and pay, but that has to be done over the phone as opposed to on-line. Just mention that you have a TIW card when making the reservation. The other is if you were to pay the non-discounted rate, just show them the TIW card on the day of the meal and they will reimburse you the difference to the credit card that was used.

BTW - I thought they changed the "rules" on purchasing the TIW card for DVC members. You were not required to have an annual pass as long as you had your DVC membership card. I thought that was a new perk that was just offered for members.

I paid $75 a few years ago, great deal! Not to be confused with DDP. TiW is strickly Table Service. Gotta-make-a-ressie-to-get-in-there kinda card

I made ressies for everyday we were there (a week) Well worth it! And, did I mention it covers alcohol too? Unlike DDP Just depends on your needs. Enjoy!

I do believe there are even more quick service places that take the TIW card now.


We always ask where ever we eat. Never too proud to save money.

The Boss sat down with Deb's menus and estimated what we should pay to eat every day, based on the QS that we planned on eating in, where we had reservations, tips, and tax.

She then compared that to what it would cost us using the DDP and just paying with the TIW.

The way we eat, it came out much cheaper with the TIW card. We also ate less, and, manage not to gain weight on our trip (ok...not very much anyway).

This is a true statement. You may now show your DVC Member Card to purchase the TIW card for $100. If you also have an annual pass, though, you're better off showing that to get the TIW for the cheaper price AP price of $75.

Perhaps a dumb question, but just wanted to confirm ... only one person in our family needs to purchase the card, and the discount is good for everyone (up to 10 people)??

How long is the card valid? And does the time start when you purchase the card or first use it?

We have always done DDP but considering TiW for our next trip. Seems like a good deal!

Is it worth it maybe just to ask at every QS place just in case they might offer the discount as well?
