For those of you who have used Tables in Wonderland within the last year. . . when you used the complimentary valet, did you need to present your Dining Receipt or just your TIW card? THANKS!!!

I would say it was 50/50. They usually always had us show the TIW when we parked. About half the time we had to show a receipt when we picked up our car. Seems like Grand Floridian never asked for the receipt.

We've only ever been asked for TIW card -- but once had the charge from AKL show up on room charges after a Jiko dinner. Desk kindly removed it when we showed them dinner receipt and TIW card, but there may be some gremlins in the system.

At Grand Floridian in December we needed the receipt and the card, at Beach Club on the same day we just needed the card.

No, it's not a fluke. People have reported that they've had their valet charges on their room, because apparently the parking pass in the car was scanned. I would suggest not keeping the parking pass in the car if you're going to use the Tables in Wonderland valet perk. No way to charge your room without your consent that way.

Very good tip to remember, thanks for posting

They started "charging" TIW valet parking about the time valet services were outsourced. It was a problem (a major problem) for quite sometime but I am pleased to say that the last 2 trips they managed to correct whatever was wrong (and scanning the parking pass was the big culprit) and we've had no problem since.

We have never had to show our TIW card (or anything else) when we showed up to valet park. They have only asked for the actual dinner receipt when we come out to pick up the car. When we do mention on arrival that we have TIW, the valet attendant usually just nods and then is in a big hurry to attend to all the other customers who are coming and going.

I usually have my receipt and TIW card in hand as I approach the valet kiosk. Saves me from fumbling around looking for it in case they do ask.

In December at Grand Floridian they asked for the receipt when we picked up the car. The receipt clearly showed the TIW card being used for the meal. I don't remember them asking for the TIW card or any other form of ID.

You need to have the TIW card and your receipt handy. I tell the valet I have TIW when I pull up. That way, sometimes they don't ask for the receipt when I leave. Sometimes they do though - maybe 25% of the time.

We always show the TIW card when we arrive, stay off-site so can't automatically be charged, and have the receipt ready to show after the meal but it's not always checked.

And yes we always tip - the valet guy has to run as far whether we are paying directly or not!

Just wondering if you tip them when you use your TIW card for valet parking?

Definitely - when we used to use free valet (old DVC perk), I used to tip more than normal since the parking is free. They're still providing the same service, right?

We always hide our resort parking permit so they can't scan it.
