So I am looking to get TIW but there was one part I didn't like so wanted to see if this was doable before I get this.

So if I go to lunch with say 2 other families and we were paying our own ways can we still use TIW for my family? Or does the whole table have to use it?

Does that make sense?

No, the whole table does not have to use it. Just make sure your server knows who is included on your bill, which you would do anyway, and your server will use the TiW for your bill.

Why not use it for all? The bill can still be split for payment. We met a friend I had not seen in 20 years there for lunch at Biergarten in Dec. They had TIW and asked the server if they could apply it to our bill as well. We had no idea they had it, of course, but thought it was extremely nice of them to do that for us.

The way i was reading something on the website for TIW is that the person who is the cardholder pays for the entire table. Maybe they don't practice that, and that would be great that everyone got the discount and could pain for their party.

This is how it's normally done. The PP must have gotten a generous server, which happens sometimes. Generally, and it states such on the TiW website, all discounted meals (up to 10 people per card per meal) must be paid for by the TiW cardholder.

I would still extend the discount to my guests then, and let them pay me, but that's just me. I guess 3 families might exceed the 10 person limit, though. There were 8 of us.

OK. But we are still able to split the bill and say only "this family" will be using TIW?

If I were to meet my parents who get the DP and I have TIW and pay out of pocket that is something to think about.
