For those of you who have it, do you consider it worth the price and can you use it on packages, such as the candlelight processional dinner package?

Well worth the price, as you only have to spend $375 in food/drinks to make up for the $75 cost of the TIW card. It doesn't take very many meals at WDW (especially at the signature restaurants, which is where I usually eat) to spend that much money on food.

No idea if it can be used for dinner packages. Sorry!

Thanks, that's what I assumed but it never hurts to inquiry with the experts on this board!

we use and have found it to be a good deal. My only issue is that it automatically gives an 18% tip. I have found it works best if you don't tell them you are using TIW until the bill comes.

We purchased a TIW card in May 2009 and it was valid for 13 months which meant we could get 4 holidays out of it so excellent value for money.

I noticed when we bought one yesterday it's only valid for 12 months, anyone else found this?

Caron

I don't remember the specifics, but the length has to do with the time of the month you buy it.

We bought ours in Sept. 09 and before we came home had saved the price of the TIW card. We used it when we went in Feb 10 and will get a third use out of it this Sept. I'd have to give it a thumbs up for value!

We love our TiW card and consider it to be an excellent value. Unlike the DDP we can use it on appetizers and adult beverages in addition to entrees and desserts. We have saved a great deal by having the card and have been able to experience many of the signature restaurants. The 18% gratuity doesn't bother us at all since we usually tip 20% and sometimes more if the service is exceptional. We've never had a problem by mentioning the card as we're being seated. We've had great service. We will probably get Annual Passes ever year in order to get TiW.

This is my first year with an AP and the TiW card and couldn't be happier with it. I had done my previous few trips on the DDP and had been growing unhappy with it, and found myself eating things I normally wouldn't eat just because it was included. I never eat desert at lunch when I'm not on the plan, and at diner there are times I'd rather have an appetizer over desert depending on what restaurant we are are.

I loved the flexibility of the TiW card. I no longer felt like I was eating just to make the DDP worth it. I occasionally like to have a glass of wine or a cocktail with my dinner and it was great that we got the discount off of that too. I had played with the numbers before buying it and knew that I'd make back my money on my first trip using it, and that was with just two adults. My March trip and my upcoming October trip will be pure savings.

I have no desire to go back to using the DDP. This works out so much better for how I like to eat while I'm on vacation. I'll have to be sure to plan my trips the next time in the same year so I can justify another AP and TiW card.

Don't forget too that if you are staying at a value resort, or at POFQ you can use your TiW card at the food courts there because they don't have a sit down restaurant.

Thanks for the input! I agree with you on the DDP because I can't eat that much and seldom order dessert. It seemed to be a waste. We do use the AP discount when we can, but it is usually only 10% and only valid Mon-Fri at some places. I didn't realize you could use the TiW for alcohol, which is a big plus. I also am not concerned with the 18% because I'm a good tipper and will usually tip 20%.

It works for us because we have APs and will never use the DDP.
I agree that if you don't usually order dessert, it's probably not worth getting the DDP.

My son and I just were at Disney this week and used the card twice at the ASSR food court, once at Sci-Fi, once at Captain's Grille, then finally at Restaurantasaurus. The 18% doesn't bother me and we usually add more. I can't tell you how many times we've used it this year and will use the heck out of it at Christmas!

Another thumbs up! This is the first year we've had AP's since we were doing multiple trips. We saved the price of the card in the first trip. We generally do signature dining, and usually have 8-9 people, so it really adds up. We love that it includes adult beverages, and like others, the 18% doesn't bother me since I generally tip 20%.

We have had one for 2 years and it is totally worth the price....love saving $$ on cocktails ;)

I completly understand and agree witht eh 18% for sit down meals, but do they add a 18% tip to your bill when you are using it at one of the resort food court / counter services? If they do then I have a problem.

So is there a list of where you can use it? We decided to not do ddp next trip and are trying to see if this is worth it.

We really love it. I agree with everyone else's points (saves on alcohol, saves on the entire meal and works with whatever your style of eating is), but I also love how it's good for a full year. We don't always stay onsite -- we own an offsite timeshare and also like to steal away for quick weekends at Universal. It's wonderful to have a dining discount plan that isn't tied to a onsite Disney room reservation all the time. We find it opens up options for us.

You also get free valet at the Disney hotels with it. This is wonderful at the hotels with parking lots a mile away!

If you like to visit a hotel cocktail lounge before or after dinner, it saves there. We've used it at the cocktail lounge at the Grand Floridian and AKL.

No. Only at TS (including buffets).

No, they do not add 18% tip for food courts or counter services.
