I read on the DVC board that the TIW card has gone up $15. Is that true? And if so, does that seem like a big jump to you? Disney seems to be raising prices at rates well above inflation in many areas, which doesn't seem so nice given the economy.

Yes, true. $75 for AP holders now, $100 for Florida residents I think.

I think it's still a great deal if you eat TS and have some drinks, you just have to spend a bit more to break even. Before it was $300, now it's $375 (for AP holders, which I am). For a family of 4, it doesn't take too much to hit that!

When was the last time the price increased?

When was the last time the price increased?

I've had the DDE card for several years and I think it was always $60 until this year (but I got mine a couple weeks before the increase so mine is still $60 for this next year.)

It was $75 per year for Florida residents in 2004. So that would mean it has gone up 25% in five years. That's a bit higher than I'd expect. Perhaps the contribution to the bottom-line from TIW/DDE patrons isn't as significant as it has been in the past. That's happened, before, with lots of affinity programs. Early adopters get a pretty good benefit, though it is typically because that redirects a lot of their spending towards Disney -- spending that would have otherwise been directed elsewhere -- and then after a while the "tricks and tactics" get so well-known that a greater portion of the patrons are just utilizing the aspects of the program that drive less revenue to Disney, thereby prompting an increase in the fee. Sad to see that happen.
