Hello I am wondering if we should buy the Tables in Wonderland card?
There are 4 of us 2 adults and 2 kids (eating kids meals and maybe dessert)
Still making reservations but mostly doing Table service.
We have La Hacienda ressies, and Sanaa, and Whispering Canyon ressies right now... Im wondering if we are going to make it back to disney this coming year.... does the discount apply to Downtown Disney?

In order to make your money back on the Tables in Wonderland card, you need to spend $400 in a calendar year. This figure assumes that you aren't buying an Annual Pass simply so you can buy the Tables in Wonderland card.

If you'd be buying an annual pass to get the TiW card, that changes the game quite a bit

Annual Pass Cost $531.44
3 & 4 Day hoppers $291.95
Difference - $239.49

So now you need to spend just under $1,600 in order to break even

$1,200 in receipts - 20% Discount = $240 Savings
$400 in reciepts with a 20% Discount - $80 Savings

These numbers are slightly off because you would pay 6.5% tax on the discounted amount of your meals. That saves you $1.30 for every $100 of receipts. (Meaning that the discount on the tax will save you about $20 if you spend $1,600 on your meals)

If you're going to spend less than $375 using it, you won't recoup the membership fee. How much you'd save depends on how much you spend over that. Do you have an annual pass? As you aren't a Florida resident you'd need an AP to be eligible. Tricia has it all broken down above for if you think you might buy the AP just to get the TIW.

Wait it's $100 so $500 in meals....
Time to update my profile LOL we moved to Tampa this last summer

Thanks for updating your profile!

Being a Florida resident will help you in that you won't need to buy an Annual Pass just to get the card.

Your calculations are correct then - $500 to recoup the $100 investment. :goodvibes

As a Florida Resident the cost of TiW is $100. If you have any level of AP the cost is $75.

Here is a working example, using $100.00 as the original bill to make the math show up easily. Note this is for Table Service. At Counter Service there is no gratuity added.

100.00 - Original Amount
*20.00 - Discount
*80.00 - Subtotal
*18.00 - Gratuity Added based on $100
**5.20 - Sales Tax on $80
103.20 - Final amount charged, takes into consideration discount, gratuity and tax.

Without TiW Discount (and still figuring 18% Gratuity)

100.00 - Amount of Bill
*18.00 - Gratuity
**6.50 - Sales Tax on $100
124.50 - Total

$21.30 - Savings using TiW Card.

(Note - At Victoria and Albert's the added gratuity is 20% instead of 18%.)
* Ignore the asterisks; they are there only so the columns/numbers line up properly.

And, for counter service where there is no gratuity the savings is still $21.30 as the menu price is discounted 20% and the related sales tax is also adjusted.
