Hi all. Q: if my AP gets us 20% off already, whats the benefit to having this card? Does it include a discount on alcohol? If so, alcohol from anywhere?

Thanks!

Which restaurants do AP holders automatically receive a discount at, without purchase of Tables in Wonderland?

We have had Multiple discount options AP DVC and TIW. Our family of 4 mostly dines table service and enjoys good food and wine. we find that it is worth it for us to buy TIW if we will be at Disney 12 days or more in the 13 months it is valid. We have kept receipts over a few trips and compared using AP/ DVC vs TIW ( factoring in the cost of the TIW card as well)

Thank you so much! We have those same discount (DVC and AP) options. If my mildly hungover (Happy St. Paddy's Day) brain is working correctly, we would have to initially spend $300 to recoup the cost of the card and then everything else is gravy? If so, even with 2 of us for only 5 nights/6 days, it doesn't appear it'll be an issue. Cal Grill brunch is $80 each...and thats one meal.

AP includes NO alcohol, TiW does.

Few, list posted above.

You are right!!! I just assumed it was 20%. I don't why I thought that.

Thank you for the link.

Because Disney was great to AP holders last year in their special food discounts of 20% at so many ........ but it has gone back to the old days of minimal discounts at minimal places. We didn't get our TiW last year and used the AP ones .......... but they are almost worthless to us now so back to the TiW.

Here is the list for TiW ~

^^^Thank you! I briefly did the math and it'll be so worth it to get the Tables in Wonderland card. As of now our plans include dining at Jiko or Sanaa, California Grill brunch, Raglan Road, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Homecomin', and Il Mulino. There may also be a table service in Epcot. We will drink beer/wine/cocktails with all dinners as well.

TIW has become more expensive, raising the cost to recoup - especially if you have an AP and already receive a 10% discount. In that case, you have to spend nearly $1,500. The biggest factor is alcohol. Those bar bills add up quickly! Also, keep in mind that TIW is good for 13 months, so you can multiple trips out of it, making it a great deal.

Last year, we passed on TIW because the AP discount was 20%, so it didn’t make sense to buy it just for drinks and a handful of QS. This year, I have to do the math. Will probably be a wash and I’ll get the card.

We have found the TIW saves us more than the AP discount did. However, it all depends on where you want to eat and if you will have alcohol with your meal. Also remember that if you go to a lounge, many of them will take the TIW card as well. We found that the few places we ate that didn't take TIW or AP would give us a discount with the Disney VISA card.

Thank you for doing the math. We don't have to recoup the costs of the Ads (thankfully and gratefully). :worship:

We won't be back to WDW within the year unless something miraculous happens but I think it'll still be worth it for the 5nts/6days. We will drink with every dinner and then some. LOL.

Thank you. Yeah the AP discount is less than I anticipated. We have a Disney VISA as well. Trying to wrack up those points.

If you drink a lot of refreshing adult beverages or eat at restaurants other than Disney owned, the TIW can make sense. If you have an android phone, here is a good ap detailing who takes what.

Boo no android in the house. Wonder if there an iPhone version? Thank you! We drink a lot of adult beverages and are planning on Il Mulino which is not Disney owned. Not sure if Homecomin' is Disney owned or not. Raglan Road either. Guess I have more research to do. :lmao:

I was about to purchase a TIW until I realized that I wouldn't be saving as much as I initially thought since you save 10% with AP

You can use it on your computer. Maybe look up what you are interested in before you go or maybe use a web browser on your phone? We don't use Apple products in our home so I can't test it for you, my honey is a computer consultant and doesn't like them.
