Tables in Wonderland and counter service

I have a few Tables in Wonderland questions.

I noticed that the Table in Wonderland is good at the Value Resorts counter service. But what about other locations?

On counter services do they add the 18% gratuity?

When does the card become active? On the date of purchase or date of first use.

I have run then numbers and with no discounts on counter service I come out about $35 cheaper than doing the dining plan and that is only on the second half of our trip. My son and I will be in Disney a week before my hubby joins us so we would have potential savings then too. There is also a chance my son and I will return in December. So it looks like it could be a better plan than the dining plan. I just have to mull it over some more.

Thanks in advance :)

There are very few counter service locations you can use TIW. In fact, I think the All Stars, Pop and POFQ food courts are the only CS locations and that's only because there isn't a sit down option. You are not charged the 18% gratuity at CS locations, and the card is activated on the date of purchase.

Flame Tree Barbecue, Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus at AK.

It is valid from time of purchase through the last day of the following month the next year. So if you bought it today, it would be good through April 30, 2012.

And the purchaser must have a valid Annual Pass or proof of Florida Residency and at least 21 to purchase it.

Thanks for the info. I am still on the fence. Our savings this trip would be small and that is if I can be good when ordering table service. The appetizers look so good at the table services restaurants I know they would be more tempting. Although I do think it is likely we will get a 2nd trip in on the card.

So right now I will just wait. My hotel reservations are made with using the General Public discount seeing the Annual Pass for my stay isn't out yet. So I am paying for unneeded (right now) park tickets. I guess I will make my decision by my 45 day out mark.

I am also hoping rooms will open up at the Swan or Dolphin. Right now 2 days of my second half of my trip are unavailable. If that opens before the 45 day mark I think I will go for the TIW card for sure:)

Take Care all :)
