If we get an ARD for say San Angel Inn in Epcot and we only get an appetizer and dessert each for me and my wife and get our daughter a kids meal, would I just still tip our normal % or go higher since we reserved a table? No problem in going on the high end, was just curious if anyone else have done this.

While I think you are fine to just tip from the bill, we typically add a little bit. It's pretty common for my traveling party to visit a higher end eatery (say, Flying Fish) and just do apps/dessert - usually because we saw something on the dessert menu we wanted to try, but also because it brings the experience into our price range.

We are allergy diners, which means we take up the table for nearly as long as a full meal, and we have TiW. If the service is good (and I have NEVER experienced pushback from the server even on a water/app/dessert bill - common when it's hot,) we increase our tip - sometimes significantly. That's where my moral compass rests when it comes to taking up a table and ordering the cheapest things on the menu. (Frankly, if we ordered entrees, we'd be too full for dessert - which is often why we went in the first place!)

But Rusty's correct in that it's not necessary. I just feel less like a cheapo by doing it. Lol!

I think if you add most appetizers and desserts together they equal the cost of a typical entree and i would tip on the actual bill - after all, no one who only orders an entree and not an appetizer or dessert would tip as if they had ordered one or the other or both. I think if you order JUST an appetizer I might tip as though I had ordered a full entree.

I would tip on the actual bill. Now it you sit there for 2 hours, I would tip extra.

Tip based on the actual bill but not stick around forever (or tip a little extra then).

Thread has been closed, personal tipping habits is not a topic for discussion. There is a sticky thread on the main dining board for the mechanics of tipping

Enjoy your trip!
