Helping some friends plan their WDW vacation. They like to eat & have large appetites. They are doing some buffets & family style restaurants, but they are seeking a plated table service dinner that offers good sized portions.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

50's prime time has enormous portions.

i have read (and found myself) that yak and yeti in AK has large portions (we got the ribs and it was a huge plate of food)

if they want to go to a signature I have read that the steak for 2 at yachtsman is still a very large portion for 2.

wolfgang puck express is a quasi QS but they serve the food plated and their entrees are quite large.

Raglan Road and Homecoming have large portions for the price (at a theme park anyway). Boathouse, STK and others usually have good portions of meat, but the seafood portions can be small.

Mama Melrose. And just about any table service restaurant. Don't recall leaving any place hungry, but Mama Melrose served lots of food.

Many restaurants in EPCOT - China, Morocco and Italy (Via Napoli - pizza - you get a lot of pizza for the money).
Ohana - is delicious and gives a lot of food.
Whispering Canyon Café
Yak and Yeti

Via Napoli.

NOT Teppan Edo. We love Teppan Edo, but this is the one place that we don't leave feeling extremely stuffed. Not that we're still hungry, but we aren't heavy eaters, and we always remember this as our lightest table service meal of our trips.

I think a LOT of the ones we've done are large portions:
50s
Rose and Crown
Garden Grill (although it is Aycte, one was enough for us!)
Liberty Tree
Le Cellier (and I just had poutine and soup and bread!)
To me the majority of the QS are large too! We typically get one and split and try many other places.

50's Prime Time , Mama Melrose and on the QS side Wolfgang Puck Express Marketplace DS.

We find that places (well TS places) where we can get burgers and fries fill us up more than most regular dinners and it's much cheaper. Sci-fi and trex we've gotten burgers and been filled up more than spending double on a steak. The only meal I honestly remember being full was the ribs, steak, and shrimp at rainforest cafe. It was delicious and came with fries and I was stuffed.

As a big eater none of the expensive meals fill me up alone. However, adding a salad or appetizer (maybe dessert) gets me full, but I hate the thought of spend $10 or more on a salad. That's why we like buffets. The quality isn't as good and it ends up being the same price (by the time you add salad and dessert at other TS) but we can get filled up and have a variety.

Agree with this. Most hibachi places give you tons of food, but Teppan Edo isn't one is them. We found our portions to be smaller this past trip than last year's. Like you said, we didn't leave hungry, but certainly weren't stuffed nor did we leave a lot on our plates.

Most other restaurants at Disney do have rather large portions though.

Excluding some signatures, almost all Disney portions are ridiculously out of control huge. Your friends will be fine:)

Agree most of the TS places give large portions, in some cases even the signature ones do. I almost am never able to finish everything (nor do I try) even at places like Flying Fish and Tiffins.
