Table Service Question

Trying to decide about the DDP. I have never done it before, and really know little about it. If I get it, I would be getting the 1 QS, 1 TS and 1 S option. I have reservations at Boma (Breakfast), Paradiso 37 (Dinner) and Biergarden (Lunch) during our stay as of now (always a chance to add one more table meal).

I had a couple questions:

(1) What can you order for your TS when you go to these restaurants?

(2) Anybody know how much these restaurants cost in December typically?

(3) If I am coming on a Saturday and staying 3 nights and leave on a Tuesday, and my first reservation is on Saturday, is it good only till Monday or Tuesday?

(4) what do you get for a typical QS in this meal plan?

(5) would love to know typical prices of QS too..if anyone has time to list a few.

Even one answer would be greatly appreciated...if anyone has time.

1. Boma is a buffet. You can have the full buffet plus a non-alcoholic beverage.
Paradiso 37: Entrée, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage. You may be able to substitute a soup or salad for dessert but you will have to ask at the restaurant what is available.
Biergarten is a buffet. You can have the full buffet plus a non-alcoholic beverage.

2. menus with prices are at allears.net. There is a sticky thread on the main restaurant board with actual buffet prices.

3. Don't understand this question but I'll try. if you are checking in on Saturday and staying 3 nights, you will have 3 TS, 3 QS and 3 snacks per person to use over the course of your stay. Your credits will expire at midnight after you have checked out, so you can use them all day Tuesday. you have three restaurants chosen already, so if you add another table meal, you will need to pay out of pocket for one.

4. QS is an entrée, dessert and nonalcoholic beverage (except for breakfast when dessert is not offered). I believe they might substitute sides or snacks for desserts now.

5. menus with prices are at allears.net.

4. They will sometimes substitute a snack item for a dessert. This is helpful to grab an extra drink.

3) No. Credits are valid from check in until midnight after you check out. They are not apportioned daily, but are all available for use as soon as you check in.

To clarify...we are staying 3 nights - Saturday night-Sunday night-Monday night. We are going to the parks Sunday to Tuesday. We check in Saturday and check out Tuesday. So if I got the plan it would be 3 of each. I have reservations on Saturday, so I understand that once I check in Saturday it would start...but starting it Saturday does it then end on Monday night (or midnight between Monday and Tuesday...note midnight is confusing to me cause midnight by definition is the moment between two days...so maybe better to ask 12:00 am on Tuesday or 12:00 am on Wednesday it expires).

So it seems for TS and QS you pretty much always get entrée, dessert and nonalcoholic beverage unless it is a buffet or breakfast (which doesn't have desert). Is that correct?

If I understand correctly you answered my question...correct? I check in Saturday...can have one of my TS meals Saturday, then have the rest of the 8 meals (2 tS, 3QS, 3S) on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I check out Tuesday and have till midnight that night to use meals.

If you keep the 3 meals you mention in your OP, you'll probably pay more for the plan than you would OOP.

Boma breakfast is $25 per adult and Biergarten lunch is $32. A TS credit is roughly "worth" about $38, and there is almost no way you'll make up that amount with Paradiso and your QS meals.

Thanks...that was what I was trying to do...you did the work for me!

I think the reason your question didn't make sense is that it's not a valid concern. You could eat all three of your table service meals on Saturday. Or on Tuesday. It doesn't matter.

No more like you didn't get what I was asking but someone else did so I am good. It was a question of when it ended if you started on Saturday. Technically you get 4 days for 3 days worth of meals. I got it now thanks to the others

Yes but you can still eat all three table service meals on Saturday and all three quick service on tuesday if you really want to. The credits can be used in any order over the four days of the reservation. It starts from check-in and ends midnight on check out day no matter when the first meal is.

This is a good breakdown of where the best value is for a credit. Note that it lists both an average and a maximum (most expensive items) for each restaurant. It's worth looking at the menu and guessing what you're likely to order each place. It totally changes the value. The tripplanner calculator is great, but remember that it is calculating averages only. If you're like my guys who gravitate toward the most expensive thing on the menu it's not quite as accurate.
