I am contemplating booking a 5 night stay at CSR for next month. My concern is that I might not be able to get any ADRs at this late date.

If I am not able to book any TS ADRs, would Disney allow me to use TS credit at a CS restaurant?

Also, for anyone who has stayed at CSR, is the in-room dining worth 2 TS?

You are right that you will have difficulty getting ADRs at many restaurants at this late date -- especially the Epcot restaurants because of the CP packages. Many of those restaurants not only won't have ADRs available, they won't be taking any walkups either.

You can also expect similar difficulties at MK venues. When we were there in December two years ago, there was zero TS availability anywhere in MK for the entire 5 days we were there. We had our ADRs, but many people were disappointed.

You should have better luck eating in resort restaurants. You'll probably be able to get ADRs somewhere, but possibly not your favorites. I'd try to make the ADRs first, and if you can't get anything decent, just skip DDP. It's really not worth it unless you're getting full value for the TS credits.

Generally, TS credits are not exchangeable for CS meals. A couple of years ago, because of the popularity of free DDP, they allowed the "trade-in" of TS credits for CS and some bonuses. But they haven't done that since.

Like anything else Disney, your results may vary from restaurant to restaurant, and even from server to server. Good luck!

It was permitted to trade in TS credits for something else during at least one year during the period where the free dining promotion was in place.

I haven't seen anything like that offered for December.

I would start trying to get ADRs. You may have to settle for early or late TS meals, most likely in resorts.

If you can get an ADR for a signature restaurant (sometimes they are easier to get as most DDP users want one-credit restaurants), I'd do that long before I would use 2 TS credits on room service.

Call about ADR, but depending on your dates you may be pleasantly surprised. I called about 10 days ago for a trip Dec 19 - 23rd and got just about everything I wanted! It's worth a try...

January is a slower time of year, so maybe you won't get your prime choices or prime times, but even during the free dining promo, there were a few options available right up until the last minute. You probably won't get Le Celier, but you can almost certainly get lunch at the Plaza.

I think you can maybe use TS credits at a CS, but you won't get anything extra for doing so. During the free dining promo in September they allow you to do it and get like an extra drink or dessert or something.

Anyhow, the best way to find out is to call WDW directly and find out what's available ASAP. The sooner you call...

Also, for most places ADR's dont' cost anything, so you've got nothing to lose by calling.

the ts is the best reason for the plan. i was thinking the same thing you were, i wanted more counter service so i wasn't locked into ressies. i found out that i actually enjoyed sitting down for a couple hours and getting out of the rush. i was there for 8 days so we didn't have to go ,go ,go all the time. i bet you might get some nice adr's but not in prime time slots. good luck!!!
