My question is if you order and appetizer like Dim Sum Basket For 2 (at the yak and yeti) and you on the DDP does this count as 2 appetizer or 1?

If you're on the regular DDP (1CS/1TS/1SN) then the appetizers are not included anyway. If you're on the DXDDP, then I'm not sure.

Reports have been that if you want an appetizer or dessert for 2 on the DxDDP, then 2 people will need to use their appetizer/dessert for it.

On the DDP, you do not get an appetizer so anyone can order it and pay OOP. Dessert would be the same as the DxDDP.

It appears to depend entirely on the individual restaurant, so the answer is "whatever the server tells you." And the previous posters are correct, appetizers are included for adults only on the deluxe dining plan.

This doesn't answer your questions exactly, but we think the apps at Yak and Yeti were great and I would say even if you paid oop (which is what we did) it is worth it. YUM!
