Table or Booth?

Table. Most booths I've sat in are either too small (I like my space and hate to be sitting close to someone) or I'm sitting too low and feel like the table is right under my chin. The last time I went out to lunch, at a diner, we were shown to a booth with a couple little kids sitting in the one next to it. One of the kids was standing up, with his burger in his hand, hanging over the booth eating it, where we were going to sit it! I picked up the menus and moved down a couple booths...didn't want food in my hair!

Table for me. I am short (5'2") and find it hard to reach the table in a booth. I usually put my purse behind my back so I can reach the table and not have to sit on the edge of the seat.

I always prefer a BOOTH. There's less traffic around it! At a table, you have servers as well as patrons passing by.

The only time I like a TABLE, is when it's a buffet-style restaurant, like Sweet Tomatoes. Then a table is easier to get up and down from to get to the buffet/salad bar.

Non-smoking booth, for most of the same reasons as the other's. Privacy, children, etc.

I used to always prefer booths, but now I like tables better if I'm going to need to nurse the baby and the table at the booth is stuck to the wall. There's never enough room for me to hold him right without hitting his head on the table if I can't move it back a few inches.

I guess you'd call that a "happy meal".

Definitely booths! Unless the table is too close or too far away, you can't adjust!

doxdogy I am like you. I am only 4' 8" tall and in the booths I feel like a littly child at the table. At least with the table I can scoot the chair over as much as I can. In a booth I too use my purse to try and push me forward and then if everyone is wearing coats then I will sit on them to raise me up. Also, it should be as far away from smoking as possible. We went out to dinner and made reservations there and told them that I wanted it as far away from smoking as possible. We then went shopping, came back in time in time for the reservation and the table they gave us was right beside the smoking tables. We then had to wait while they got us another table.

I usually don't care except if we're at a buffet.....I like a table then because it's easier for us to get up better and make those frequent trips to the buffet!!:D

Booth when enjoying a quiet dinner with DH (more romantic); table for any groups of four or more.

Booth! I like the soft seats as opposed to a hard chair.

I prefer a booth too, for all the reasons you all mentioned. Including when i was nursing my babies. It allowed me some privacy and I was able to eat my food before it turned cold.
