Here's a simple one for ya (couldn't find it in a search)
does Mickey's boat have tables for two at dinner? the future bride told me today she wasn't too keen on sitting with strangers. since we're on our honeymoon, she doesn't think it'll be romantic, and i hafta dmit i kinda agree. i just have this feeling we'd get matched up with other people that are like 15 years older than us.

I have not seen any table for just two before. We were a party of 3 and seated at a table for 4 but they didn't put anyone else with us. You can make a note of it on your reservation and they may pair you up with other honeymooners.

Nope, no tables for two. My DH and I cruised on Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon and had to sit at a table for 8. Definitely not romantic. We asked if we could sit alone one night and they accomodated us at a table of 6 -- we felt kind of weird sitting by ourselves at such a big table, but it was nice to have some privacy.

If you do decide to cruise DCL for your honeymoon, you always have the option of eating at Palo for dinner where you can always have your own table. That's what I would do. Only problem, you have to pay $10 per person per dinner. It'd be worth the price for me (at least a few of the nights). Also, you can only make one set reservation for dinner at Palo, but you can be waitlisted every night if you want. Normally, they have availability, but you might not know until that afternoon. Also, you didn't say if it was on the Wonder or Magic. If it's the Magic, tell PJ (the manager of Palo) that it's your honeymoon and I'm sure he will do his best to accomodate you -- he's amazingly helpful.

Good luck and congratulations! :sunny:

I celebrated my 9th anniversary last year on the Magic. I requested a table for 2 but, instead, was seated with 3 other couples - all of whom were honeymooners! I'm a major introvert and prefer privacy, but I had a blast.

For those romantic moments, be sure to visit Palo and take a few late night strolls on deck.

If you're expecting privacy at dinner, a cruise is probably not for you unless you can afford a suite. (Even then, you'd miss the dining room atmosphere if you stayed in your room.) I suspect tables for 2 are rare because of the tight spaces on the ship.

thanks for the quick responses. i think we were looking forward to some "us time" since it'll be the first time we'll be alone since the wedding (families have either never been to wdw, or haven't been to ages). so i know we'll be spending most of our time with them.
thanks anyway!!!

You can be seated alone at a table that seats 4. Make the request with DCL before hand, make sure to mention it is your honeymoon, they will tell you it is noted but it cannot be guaranteed. When you board ship, go to where the Palo ressies are being taken and speak with the regular dining room reps. Expect to have your table for two (at a table that normally seats 4) confirmed.

Exactly as above--there are no tables for 2. However, we have been a party of 2 seated at a table for 4. If you want to be seated alone, just call DCL (or have your TA do it if you booked thru an agent) and tell them. They really try to meet requests.

My DH and I always sit alone at breakfast and lunch it has never been a problem. We just request it upon entering and then at dinner we enjoy the company of our tablemates! (well sometimes our DD comes along) :rotfl:

That would probably make the people as old as I am! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Geez, I'm feeling old now!

Actually it wouldn't be the "older" people I'd mind as honeymooners, it would be a table of children (I have 4 children, so NOTHING against kids, they--mine at least--don't make the most romantic of dinner partners). I don't think that they'd put honeymooners at a table with children, though. :)

we requested a table for two and ended up at a table for 10 - turned out that we enjoyed everyones company :)
