Good Afternoon! My family of five is going on our first disney cruise on 1/22/05. Is there any opportunity for a table of five just for us?

We aren't anti-social but it might make dinnertime easier for everyone!

thanks, Mike :earsboy:

Hi Mike,
According to my TA, we've been given a table for five, for my family of five.

I went for this option b/c was afraid we'd be sitting with a couple with only one or no kids, and that i'd spend every meal being hyper-vigilant about my kids' table manners/behavior!!! :sunny:

Thanks Jen.. I guess I should ask my TA to do that...and change my seating to Late!

When are you going? We're there 1/22/05....!

Nov 13....counting the days! We're all so excited (I've become even more obsessive thru these boards!) ;)

Have you looked on the Cruise Meets thread up top for your cruise date's forum? I've had fun chatting with my Nov mates, my DS(to be 12) is looking forward to hooking up via email with another boy from our cruise mates.

Happy Planning!

We reqested a table of our own on the last 2 cruise(5 0f us). The first cruise we were put at a large table of 10 with another family of five who only came to dinner 1 night. The second we were give a table for 5 all the way in the back which worked out great.

dis4me ~ When did you request your seating, when you got on the ship or to your TA before you left?

we just got back from doing a 4 day on the wonder and were quite surprised to find that the three of us had our own table, also had our oun table for four when we took the 7 day magic right after. it was great. for the 7 day i did request with AAA that we have a table for four but getting a table for three was purely luck.

We requested it to our TA when we booked.
Good Luck!

Last July on the Wonder, we were a party of five. We had a table that seated six. Enjoy!

We didn't even ask for a table to ourselves but had one on the July 2003 Wonder 4 night we took. We are a family of 5. We were way in the back also.
This time we had a table for the 11 of us and we were tables #1 and 2 right in the front!!

FYI....no TA can "guarantee" you a table size...all they can do is request one from DCL. I just don't want anyone being disappointed if for some reason they do not get the table size they requested. If you do not get the table size you requested then go immediate to the dining changes area and ask onboard to be moved. I always check out our table number (listed on your KTTW card) first thing when we get onboard to determine what size table we are at.

DCL will try to accomodate as many requests as possible but it is unrealistic to think that they can accomodate everyone's seating requests.

Good luck.

We are a family of 5 who did NOT want to sit with anyone else on our 5-1 Eastern cruise so we requested it hoping to get it. We didnt! It was really disappointing to us not to get a table to ourselves. Instead we got put with a family of 3 who had a little girl a year older than our youngest son. It was awkward and unpleasant. The only night we enjoyed ourselves was when the parents went to Palo. They were nice enough but we just did NOT want to deal with dinner conversations with people we didn't know. This was only the 2nd time in 15 cruises on vaiorus lines that we've never gotten a table size we requested and it really kind of "spoiled" dinner for us. I know some people who absolutely LOVE sitting with other families and can't understand why other's would not want to but we did not but ended up doing it anyway. I'd suggest asking for it but not expecting it.

We are 5 and also requested on the initial reservation to have a table by ourselves, and requested again later before we sailed. We figured it would be a tablefor 5. When we arrived it was a table for 8. My husband said, I bet another family is coming. And they did....about 20-30 minutes late for every meal. On Holland America, they close the doors shortly after the seating time....if you're late, you head to the Lido. That would have made dinners easier than feeling uneasy about going ahead without the other family, or eating on the correct schedule and seeing the shows.

We are family of 5 and have done 3 DCL cruises. We never made a special request and each time they did seat other people w/ us. Twice it was 2 people and last time family of 3. The first 2 times we got lucky and had wonderful table mates who we enjoyed talking with at dinner. The 3rd time, we wished we had made the request. I thought about requesting it before but my DH always wanted to meet new people and thought it made dinner more interesting...guess he's bored w/ us!! Anyway, we were surprised when we went on our first RCCL cruise last month and they automatically seated us alone as a family of 5. I noticed they did this for several families...even just 3. Maybe it's their standard practice??
