What have you done or would you do alone? Dinner out? Movies? Vacation?

I sometimes think it would be nice to take a solo trip. Maybe just for the week-end. I could shop as long as I want, eat where I want, sight-see where I want, etc. It's one of those things where the thought of it sounds nice but I don't know if it really would be. I'm afraid I'd miss my kids too much or feel guilty the whole time.

Anyone out there been brave enough to do something like that?

I've gone to eat myself. When I was in the WDWCP I even ate at Le Cellier alone. Things like that don't bother me. I actually enjoy going to the movies alone. I like to shop alone (but not at Costco, I need DH to carry stuff!). I did a solo trip to WDW 2 years ago. I was meeting friends, but for more than half of my trip I was alone. I loved it! I would do it again in a heartbeat. :goodvibes

All the above.

I go to movies solo all the time.

When I used to work as a program buyer for a tv network, I used to vacation solo as well, sightseeing after the trade shows or extending days after trade shows - as such, I would eat alone as well.

I don't mind eating in restaurants solo, but I won't do a buffet solo - it just makes me feel too much like a piggy! LOL

I'd love to do WDW solo, but I think DH would kill me if I tried it since he's the bigger Disney nut! :rotfl2:

Sure!! Of course, it helps (?) that I'm divorced, so I have weekends when my children are with their dad and stepmom. That leaves me able to do those kinds of things without sacrificing family time when they are home. But I've left them with their dad twice for a week while I took a solo trip to WDW!!!

And I eat lunch and dinner out by myself all the time. And occasionally see a movie, although I prefer to go with a friend.

I'm very daring!!!!

If I had to wait for my Dh anytime I wanted to go out to the movies, dinner, shopping, or vacation, I'd be waiting a LONG time.

I like my own company and comfortable in my own skin. Going places by myself isn't a big deal anymore but did take some time to get used to. I also don't have kiddos to worry about. I'm sure having kids would make things more difficult. Some people say to bring a book when going our to dinner, which I do sometimes but I also just like to sit and look around and enjoy the time alone. I think you can do it. :goodvibes

I enjoy eating alone when I have an opportunity, (that doesn't happen very often). I also go to the movies alone as well. I have never gone on an over night or vacation alone, but I have not really thought of doing it before, but now that it seed has been planted  I might just do so some time next year. I have noticed that for whatever reason I do not like going into bars alone unless I know for a fact there is someone there waiting for me.

all of the above. And one of the best things I ever did for myself was do a solo vacation. Got up when I wanted, went where I wanted, came back when I wanted, etc. I loved it!
