I have been trying to get ADR's for 3 people. Does anyone know if the system only looks for 3-top tables or will it also look for larger 4-top tables?

I am sure there are many more 4-tops than 3-tops. There is actually 4 in our party but one person does not want to eat sit-down meals.

Thanks!

I would definitely reserve for 4. I would guess that more often than not the 4th person in your party won't want to split from the group while you eat and you'll be in a pickle if you have a reservation for 3 but need a 4 top. It's much easier to go to the podium and explain that you have one less (in case they decide not to go to a meal)

I absolutely agree with this advice. It's always easier to have one less than to show up with an extra person so if the fourth person decides to join you sometimes, you won't have to worry.

Only for the reservations that require a credit card guarantee (e.g.CRT, dinner shows, etc), you would want to know if the fourth person definitely is or isn't going.

All of my ADRs are for 3 and I had no problem making the ADRs for the locations I wanted @ 180 + 10 (Le Cellier, Ca. Grill. CP, etc.) I'd read the rumor that odd numbers worked better w/ ADR availability, but did not find this to be true.

I had a reservation for 4 at Boma. Turns out we only had 3 for dinner that night and they sat us at a 3 topper, no problem.

It wasn't a 4 topper with one place setting taken away. It was a real table for 3.

If you are having trouble getting a table for 3, try searching for 4 and see what you get. I have heard that there was once an issue with people finding odd numbered ADRs but I think that has been cleared up.

On your ADR always ask for a nice table away from the door & kitchen.

We are a party of 4 - but once in 2007, my DH felt a bit under the weather and skipped our 1900 Park Faire breakfast.

;)When we arrived at the podium, we said we were now a party of 3.

They gave us a table next to the entrance door which was very busy, noisey and very far away from the buffet.

We asked for another table and the CM moved us to a side table, not near the entrance door or the kitchen. A much better spot for us. :thumbsup2

So if you are a party of 2 or 3 - please speak up if you do not like where they placed you in the restaurant.
