TA Recommendations

I have heard you can log in to dreams unlimited and make a payment yourself. Do you know this to be true? Do they get bothered when you call them with 15 $50 cards?

Yes, they have you create a password and you log on to pay. I have only used my credit card but I have heard you can use gift cards. Very convenient.

It costs a lot to run this forum and other TAs could get free advertising off of the back of that.

I generally assume that all TAs (companies) can be mentioned until said TA does something naughty, like asking people to mention them on the boards, etc. Or until the moderators FEEL that that has happened.

I love my TA. Not sure if she is allowed or not, but PM me if you are interested. I've used her for various Disney trips for the past 10+ years.

To see if a company is allowed, post the entire URL. So if I want to mention Costco Travel, I post www.costcotravel.com. If it comes through correctly, it's good. If it looks like this: www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com, then it's not.

You have a login and can pay through the website. All they ask is you limit redemption of Disney Gift cards to a max of 10 gift cards per day.

That sounds ot me like it's not automated; that they then call the GCs in to Disney. With DU do the payments appear immediately?

When I paid through Costco Travel in the middle of the night once (when as far as I know, they were closed), I was able to immediately log in to DCL and see that I was PIF.

I use Krystin at Dreams Unlimited. She has been amazing. I applied a Disney gift card via the DU website and got confirmation withing the hour it was applied.

Missy is wonderful. We spent 5+ hours on the phone catching up (I definitely wouldn't recommend keeping your TA on the phone that long, but we hadn't talked to each other in 28 years) before I transferred my booking over to her. She's a Disney fanatic and a cruise wiz.

You are correct. I do not know how Disney can justify charging people for services they are not using. If you book direct you should get rebated all of the commission that Disney would pay an agent. I use Costco and they are getting some money from Disney. Costco does not provide any service at all and I do not see why Costco should get anything.

Can't answer that. But, if you're going to Dreams Unlimited, that's a TA. You make the payment to them, and they forward it to DCL. That's how it works with most TAs. I've read that many people have called with multiple gift cards for payments.

Actually that is not true. Most travel agents (and I have worked with three different agencies so far over the years) will not take your money. They will just take your details and then call them in to DCL. That means your money goes directly from your credit card to DCL. The travel agency will not have your money in their own pocket at any time. The charges on my credit card have always been Disney Cruise Line, not my travel agent.

As to the OP's question:
My current travel agent is Brook Wozniak from http://www.mouseworldtravel.com She is great (no need to try out any new agencies anymore for me, I have found the one I will stick with!), always on top of things, really fast with her replies and provides lots of additional infos. I also get an OBC.

I was not talking about either one of the ones you listed. The one I used is through facebook. Once you contact her and give her you phone number. She can call you and arrange everything. She will private message you so that your conversation is not our there for everyone to see.

Whilst that is the headline I do not think that is always correct, there are former employees of DU who set up on their own and didn't do anything wrong, for example. Many respected the rules here but we're not allowed.

I used a TA solely because I've been impressed with her:

A)knowledge
B)responsive
C)willing to work hard

While her agency doesn't (at least so far) offer an obc
I went with her because while wdw veterans this is out first DCL trip and I want to be sure I don't screw it up. On opening day, BFF used her regular TA and I had a booking by 8-8:30 and she had to wait all day. So, essentially, I gave up the obc to work with someone who will work for me and do so quickly. Bummed not to get "free money" but I figure when I'm spending as much as the trip is going to cost me, I needed to feel comfortable I was working with someone I felt knew more than I could figure out on my own.

I have done it for years by myself but I found her this year and thought why not give her a shot. It is free and she will take care of all my PS and help with any questions that I have since I have never been on a Disney Cruise. She has been more than helpful!

I switched for service I do get OBCs not the biggest but reasonable, but for me it's about service as well.

My current TA bends over backwards for me, I am rather demanding after 12 DCL cruises but they do what I ask.

Knowing I have a phone number and an address and I have the owners on Facebook is reassurance. They often cruise and meet you on the ships.

As posted before GOOGLE search contact a few , see how quick and how personal the service is and choose.

Many friends ask me weekly what TA to use and I put them in the right direction and they are always pleased.
