Well I didn’t think this day would ever arrive.
We are off in just under two weeks time and I actually feel comfortable leaving the business.
We Ummm‘d & rrrr’d about booking this trip, way back in January, the flights were only £300 each and as we have timeshare the accommodation was as cheap as chips, so it’s a real shoe string budget trip.
My worry has always been still having a job!
This is the worst recession I have had to live through. Back in the eighties both Theresa and I were civil servants so we were sheltered from the worries most people were going through.
This time around I’m self-employed and we have been pulling so many irons in and out of the fire to keep the company going that I have metaphorical blisters on my blisters.

Things seem to have settled down a little and the bank manager isn’t trying to get us to clear the national debt single-handedly anymore.

Anyway enough of this, I’m sure you all have similar problems of your own and you didn’t start reading my pre trippie to hear about my worries did you?

So, onto nicer things.

We are booked into Barefootin’ in the keys at Old Town for two weeks from the 21st November 2009 and we can’t wait!

We fly out with Virgin from Gatwick on the 11.15 and we have booked a 2 door economy through Dollar.

We are planning on doing some parks, some shopping and a few days further afield.

The plan is

Saturday 21st Fly to Orlando and check in to barefootin
Sunday 22nd IOA. Mythos for lunch. Margaritaville dinner
Monday 23rd Blizzard Beach. Downtown Disney
Tuesday 24th Anna Maria Island or St Augustine
Wednesday 25th Universal. Bad *** café. Tony Romas
Thursday 26th Denny’s breakfast read Orlando sentinel for black Friday sales info. Ohana’s
Friday 27th Black Friday sales shopping
Saturday 28th More shopping / Silver Springs
Sunday 29th Anna Maria Island or St Augustine ( whichever we didn’t do on the 24th)
Monday 30th Epcot, beaches & Cream, Beirgarten
Tuesday 1st Citrus Showcase, Kona café, MVMCP
Wednesday 2nd Celebration in the evening to see the snowfall
Thursday 3rd AK or HS
Friday4th Shopping, packing
Saturday5th Universal or IOA. Fly home

Well that’s the plan, I can guarantee we won’t stick to it as there is so many places we want to visit and eat that we can’t physically fit them all in, we will just have to book another trip. :goodvibes

Tony,
Your itinerary has a surprising Disney/shopping ratio, but I know you and Theresa are such experienced Orlando visitors that you know exactly how to get the most out of a park day and I'm confident you'll get to all your favorite things. I think with all your careful planning, the pound/dollar exchange rate, and luck being with you (especially during your Black Friday shopping) you may very well save more money than you spent making this trip. If you shop enough this could turn out to be a FREE trip! (Nice work, Theresa.)

As someone else who is self employed i can sympathise with your fears !! hope you both have a great trip...wish i was going ;)
