Sunday 29th November
I got up and made coffee; Theresa followed a little later. We decided to do a little packing as we were worried about the weight allowance. We packed a couple of cases and much to our surprise they were well under weight and still had plenty of room in them. OK, so we can buy some more.

As the weather was so nice today and having had the long drive yesterday we decided a morning by the pool was in order. We stayed there for the whole morning under a clear blue sky and big old Floridian sun.

At lunchtime we drove up to Tony Romas on I Drive and had a super lunch. We shared a half onion loaf for starters and Theresa had the Chicken salad for her main while I had a full rack of the St. Louis ribs with the Carolina Honey sauce. We shared a Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert. All very nice, we couldn’t believe this was our first visit to Tony Romas, stateside. We are not too far from the one in Kingston and have been there for a couple of Dis meets and birthdays before.

Next we popped next door to The Bad *** Cafe and tried their Kona coffee. It’s one of the most expensive coffees you can buy and although we liked it, it was strong but smooth, we didn’t fancy paying $34 for a small bag. We checked our E Mails and bank balance while we were in there before driving up to George’s Music where we got various items Callum had picked off of a sales flyer we had had by E mail before we’d left home. As we were old customers and we’d been flying in the previous week they let us have the items at the prices on the now out-of-date flyer. You wouldn’t have got away with that in this country. I do love American customer service.

We then drove up to Prime Outlets but there was a queue to get into the car park so we turned around. We got a text back from Callum about some of the music stuff he was after so we went back to George’s and got that for him as well.

We headed back to Barefootin’ and had the last hour of sun by the pool before heading into Celebration for the evening.

It was lovely. There were a group of carollers dressed up in period costumes and horse and carriage rides.

It “snowed” at 6,7,8 & 9pm and this was very effective. Kids were running around covered in the soap suds.

We had dinner at Columbia restaurant and this was one of the nicest meals of the holiday.
This was a very romantic place to eat. It had mostly adults dining and made a nice change. We thoroughly recommend a visit.

Theresa had the Chicken with pasta parcels filled with truffle & cheese in a creamy garlic sauce while I had Chicken Barcelona - Chicken & shrimp with onions and carrots on yellow rice. Theresa had sangria with her meal just to stay with the Mediterranean feel. We were both too full for dessert which was a real shame as they had a delicious sounding white chocolate bread and butter pudding on the menu which we would have loved to have tried. We decided we would come back for it another day but unfortunately we never did make it. We will have to make sure we have room for dessert on our next trip.

On our way back to the car Theresa pointed out this sign right next to the line of parked cars and canal running alongside the footpath.

We were very quiet going back to the car, didn’t want to harass the poor alligators.

Another lovely day, and nice to see a relaxing one instead of that rush to the park first thing that the majority of people do.

We're normally with the majority. It's nice to relax now and then, we where on holiday after all. :)

great day - somehow never got to go to Celebration- looks worthy of a visit. glad you didn't disturb the gators

What a great day - I love Celebration - have even been known to go for the horse and carriage ride too!

The Columbia looks lovely inside - have been to D'antonios a few times (I like their menu) and also the Town Tavern - will have another look at this menu as it really does look good in your pictures :)

Did you feel Christmasy with the snow??

We are usually with the majority too but really liked the thought of your holiday and relaxing more and taking time to visit other places. We have our two sons with us so holidays are geared to keep them entertained but if it was just the two of us I think we would just potter around a lot more.

Glad that TR'S lived up to your expectations, im shocked you havn't been to one in the us before !

Tony, not only is your report entertaining and informative, it's inspirational. I've never even thought about dining in Celebration--until now! Columbia sounds and looks like it would be worth the little drive.

About harrassing alligators--I think that the punishment for doing so would be both swift and just and law enforcement wouldn't have to get involved at all.

Celebration in Christmas mode looks just perfect, somewhere else we need to visit.

Laur's xx

Love Celebration, we've eaten at a few places there and never been disappointed.
As for harassing Alligators, I should coco! Albeit I did call one an unpleasant name once - not sure how that stands with Florida law:confused3

Some lovely night-time shots there, Tone. We haven't eaten at Columbia, but both the place and the food look spot-on.

What a lovely relaxing day.Glad you enjoyed Tony Roma's,we love their food-we tend to go on a Monday evening whilst we are there for the unlimited ribs offer :cool1:.Food sounds/looks lovely at Columbia.
The Celebration Christmassy pics look lovely.x.
