Wednesday 2nd December
Theresa wasn’t feeling too good this morning so she had a lay-in. We went to Universal Studios around mid-morning. We have annual passes so didn’t need to pay parking and we feel we don’t have to be there at the crack of dawn to get the most out of a day ticket.
The park was just as we like it, quiet all day. It was just before the beginning of the Universal Macy’s Parade season so we got to see lots of inflatable’s all over the park.
We stopped off at the San Francisco pastry shop and had a Panini and an apple Danish as a late breakfast /brunch.
We did all our favourite rides Jaws, Men in Black (Theresa beat me even though I pressed the red button first), ET, The Simpsons, Shrek, Jimmy Newton and we got to ride Rip Ride Rocket.
It didn’t open until 1.00 and people were actually running to get in the queue. We joined the queue and when we were about 15 mins. from the front it broke down. We umm’d and rrr’d about staying in the queue or giving up but after 15 minutes it started up again. It was a great ride and you get to choose the music you listen to. I chose Country of course. The ride picture was good; Theresa’s hair looked like it was standing on end.
We always have an ice cream or milkshake from Schwab’s pharmacy and we found Curious George in there. The mean lady behind the counter wouldn’t give him a banana, even though I offered to pay for it.
We left the park around 4ish and had an early dinner at Margaretville after looking around the shop first. I was surprised that they didn’t have any “Its five O’clock somewhere” clocks as I really wanted to get one.
We had a lovely meal. I had crab, cheese & mushroom dip with Texas toast while Theresa decided on the crab cake sandwich and fries. We shared a banana & chocolate bread pudding for dessert which was easily enough for the two of us. The bill came to $36 after the A.P. discount.
On the way “home” we stopped off at Prime Outlets and bought a few things in GAP and some quiz prizes in The Disney Outlet Store. Theresa also found a shop called Le Gourmet Chef and got some cupcake cases and Christmas Holiday sprinkles as well as some very cheap Halloween ones.
When we got back to Barefootin’ we were exhausted and sat in front of the TV for the rest of the evening watch a very funny film. We missed the beginning so we don’t know what it was called. It starred Jackie Chan and another guy as cops and they were out to track down the baddies in Paris???????
We munched on a peppermint bark bar of chocolate and had a coffee while watching the film and then we were off to bed.
