Tuesday 27th November MVMCP and the sprinkles revenge.

We had a bit of a lie-in as it was going to be a late night. Leftovers from next doors fridge and a coffee run to Dunkins’ sorted us out for a good start to the day. It was off to good old Wal Mart for some more scrapbook shopping followed by a drive to Piktails (more scrapbook shopping) on The John Young Parkway. Theresa said it was a lovely shop and she preferred it to Scrappy Boutique (PM her if you want more details).

We got on the monorail and went to the Poly to try for a late lunch at The Kona Café but the girl on reception said they had just closed( it was dead on 3PM), she had let the people in front of us in but she said they had had an ADR. We felt this was so Un-Disney and we went off on the monorail and had a look around The Contemporary, grabbed a decent cappuccino and then headed off to The Grand Floridian so we could see the tree and the gingerbread house before heading back to The Kona Café to try for a table again.

This time it was a different girl and she was far more helpful by at least offering to try and squeeze us in at 5:30. We were going to do MVMCP so it was a non-starter. At least she was prepared to try, bless her.

We got back on the monorail and headed to MK. We collected our wrist bands for the party and went to get a bite to eat at Cosmic Ray’s. (see Theresa’s report- she has started it now).
As night fell they turned on the lights on the castle and I must say Disney have surpassed themselves; it is the most magical I have ever seen it, truly amazing.

We rode TTA , did Small World , Philamagic and then watched the first lot of Fireworks from behind the Castle which just wasn’t the same as watching them from the front.

We brought a Christmas Party decoration (You can only get them during the party). Then we had cookies and hot chocolate at Columbia Harbour House.

We watched Mickey’s “ Twas the night before Christmas” show and then watched the parade.

The fireworks would have been fantastic but unfortunately the sprinkles got their revenge and is was a bit of a washout. As you can see from this picture, we all got very wet!

On our way out of the park we walked through the Disney snow-fall on Main Street which was quite effective.

We still enjoyed it despite the weather and would do it again. Although it seemed there were a lot of people in the park, most of the rides were a walk on which was a big plus

We got back to Sevilla at about midnight, very tired bunnies.

Some nice pics mate, also like the ones on the other days. Are most with the new lens? Very sharp shots.

Fantastic photos:thumbsup2

Cheers Matt
Most are with the 70-300

The close up of the prawn was with it and the reflection in the xmas dec.

Lovely day, Tony. We are hoping to go to MVMCP next year, it all looks so magical especially the castle all lit up (fabulous pics, btw). The gingerbread house in the Grand Flo is amazing too.

Amazing photos Tony - you've just sealed the deal on me going around christmas time next as it looks so magical.

More lovely pic's and a nice one of you both :cool1:

Cheers Matt

That's pretty good on a long lens like that. What settings were the two "twas the night..." ones taken on?

I thought the photo with you and Theresa in was easily the best. Oh wait, you didn't take that! :rotfl2:

Seriously, nice photos and report. The castle does look particulary effective lit like that.

Blast!

I'm going to have to divorce that woman!

Perhaps buying another computer would be a cheaper option.

Actually I DID Kev. It's a couple of little gadgets called a tripod and self timer.:p

The close up f 4.2 exp 1/80 focal length 130mm

the other one f 5.6 exp. 1/60 focal length 300mm

I had the tripod set up on short legs in front of me which helped.

Actually all the night shots were on a tripod.

Did think you had a very steady hand! What ISO settings - very high, or just a "normal" one?

A great ending to a great day. Just a shame about not getting a table at the Kona
