Friday 9th May
The Crew
Tony .Driver and general gofer
Theresa .Scrapbook shopper extraordinaire
Peggy (my mum) ..Ill go on anything as long as its not upside down.
Zena (my aunt) .Ditto
We started the day off with an airboat ride at Boggy Creek.
It was really good fun and the boat went a lot quicker than we thought it would. We saw lots of wildlife but unfortunately no gators.
They had one back at the dock that you could hold and we got a few photos with it.
He felt really cold to the touch which we didnt expect.
After this we went shopping for the rest of the day!
We headed up the Orange Blossom Trail to the Florida Mall and started off with lunch at the Food Court. Theresa and I had the teriyaki chicken and Sesame Chicken with rice for $5.99 each which was really nice.
Mum and Zena had Bourbon Chicken and enjoyed that.
Fully refreshed we got down to some serious shopping. Yankee Candle, Abercrombie and Fitch and Ritz were all given a thorough investigation before we moved onto Scrappy Boutique at the Terrace. Theresa had a looooong look around while the rest of us headed to Marshalls and picked up a few bargains.
Theresa would like to point out that she had to wait for me far longer at sheplers later in the holiday
She has a very valid point.
Mum found a Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt for $30 for Callum as one of his presents as it was his eighteenth just after we got home.
After the Florida Mall, we headed off to Festival Bay to have a look around Bass Pro and Sheplers.
We stopped on route at Georges Music to buy Callums 18th Birthday present and then I dropped Theresa off at Michaels so she could continue with the scrapbook shopping. When we reached Festival Bay I left the ladies in Sheplers while I went round to Bass Pro to get a few bits and pieces. When I returned they had found several things they wanted to get but the 20% discount ticket was in Theresas bag and we were going to come back again so they were happy to leave them until then.
However I found the PBR shirt that I wasnt able to get in November and they only had one in my size; so I HAD to get it.
When I got to the register I mentioned we were going to get a lot more but didnt have our 20% voucher on us the clerk said no problem and gave me two.
Now that would never happen over here.
I caught up with the others, who were outside the shop by now, and told them, but they were starting to flag and said they would still prefer to come back and get their stuff on the next visit.
We drove back to Michaels to collect Theresa but she wasnt done so we went next door for a coffee at Joe Muggs.
I have to say the Mocha is absolutely the best I have ever tasted, and I drink a lot of coffee. Theresa came in and had a Caramel Macchiato which she declared as being delicious.
You all know we cant have a days shopping without a trip to Wal-Mart so that was our next stop. We went to our favourite one on the 192. Mainly as Id bought a pair of shorts here that had my size on the ticket but were in fact about two sizes too small. I got them exchanged, but the process in The States is a lot harder than at home. I had to go to the returns desk and get my paperwork checked then go and collect the right sized pair, which I tried on to make sure they were ok, and then return to the exchange desk and get the old receipt stamped and be issued with a new one.
After Wal-Mart we went to Bob Evans for Tea.
All very nice and very reasonable; sorry no food photos again.
Off to Discovery Cove tomorrow.
