T-Shirt Transfer Question

I looked ont he box and there is no answer to my question which is...when using transfers for t-shirts, so you have to pre-wash them first. I am assuming if you do you cant use fabric sheets.
Any help would be appreciated. I dont want to mess them up lol

You are correct - prewash your shirt but do not use fabric softener
