Which one should I get for a light pink shirt? Regular or for dark shirts?

Just wanted the experts opinions!

Thank you all in advance!

Light transfer paper (what I am assuming you are referring to as "regular") means that any part of your design that is white (such as an apron on Alice's dress) would NOT remain white on the t-shirt, but rather the color of the shirt would show through. In your case, any white in your designs will be light pink when you put it on the shirt. The more highly recommended (at least on these boards) is dark transfer paper as white stays white and people say that the colors in general seem to be more vibrant. The one thing about dark transfer paper is that you must trim it exactly around your image/design as anything not trimmed off will show up on the shirt. For this reason, lots of designs have borders or simple outline shapes so that they are easy to trim. I plan on using dark transfer paper for all my transfers, even when onto white shirts.:goodvibes HTH

Any white areas of the design will be the color of the shirt if you use light transfer paper. So, in your case, all of the white areas would be light pink. I would use dark transfer paper. Not only do the colors seems more vibrant but most of the time you do not need to flip the image either. My personal Opinion.

Ok, I'm used the white transfer paper a lot, but this is my first time doing it for others, so I will try the dark so the colors show up better. I'm not understanding why you wouldn't have to flip the design though...it is still an iron on, isn't it? If you don't flip it, or if the computer doesn't automatically do it when you select iron on transfer paper, won't your image be reversed on the shirt?

Am I missing something?

I agree with the others that dark transfers are better for colour brightness on the shirts!! It may also be a coincidence, but all of the dark-colour transfer shirts I did still look great after a year of washings while the light-transfer shirts went downhill fast!

The dark transfers are applied differently. It's almost as if you will be peeling off a thin "plastic" copy of your design and melting it onto your shirt (with the paper between of course) I find them way easier to use and NOT goof up!!!

I didn't select iron on transfer, I think I just chose the size and high quality printing (or something like that). The reason you don't have to flip the image in because when you place the iron on down on the shirt, you place it design side up and it adheres from the back, which is the opposite of light transfer paper. Did that make sense?

Just reading the tips on this thread:
Does the iron-on image crack for you? We made a bunch of shirts for my friends birthday a while ago and the image cracked on my shirt while I was putting it on -- the shirt wasn't getting stretched out or anything and I hadn't washed it yet. :confused3 Maybe I did a bad job of ironing/transfering LOL
So before I do my new Disney shirts I just wondered if there were certain brands of the iron on transfers that work better?
maybe I will do a couple of "practice" ones on old shirts . . .
