T-shirt sizes at TKDL for US ladies' Medium?

So I've been reading everywhere (ie not just on the Dis) that in Tokyo and Hong Kong the clothes run much much smaller/shorter than in the US. Many people are saying that a XL in these places is definitely not an XL in the US.

So I'm worried. I'm 5 foot 8. (68 inches/173cm) I am not pooh sized, but routinely wear a ladies size 8 jeans. I wear a medium top. Dresses are 6 or 8. That's not me squeezing into my clothes either- that's a good comfortable fit. Am I going to be out of luck for T-shirts in either of these places? Will an XL fit me over there?

I wear a ladies size 10 shoe (~26cm size), so I already know better than to go looking for footwear while I'm there. lol

I'm a male, but I generally go up only one size for tees in Japan (i.e. from "S" in Australia to "M" in Japan).

I think Australian sizes are generally in line with US sizes, so I would imagine that it may be the same for you. I wouldn't worry too much. One positive difference between the parks in Japan and those in the US is that they actually have fitting rooms for you to try on tees in Japan.

Hmmm. I actually think Aussie sizes are different to the U.S. Ladies sizes anyway. So, if I was a 14 here in Aus, I think I'd be a 10 or 12 in USA. Not sure on Japanese sizes though. Hope to find out next year

I'm also 6/8/M and did not feel large in Japan at all - I felt very average! You're taller than me (I'm 5'4"), but even my freakishly large husband (6'6"), as I affectionately call him, mostly didn't feel weird at all. He did bang his head on the entrance to a subway once - that drew some attention.

A lot of the clothes I noticed in the Disney parks were stylishly over-sized (especially the hoodies). The 2 times we were there, all I wanted was a relatively plain (compared to the extremely bright colors and all-over patterns they seem to LOVE) t-shirt, but they were seemingly non-existent.

That being said, I don't think you'd have trouble fitting into a L, but maybe get XL in case of shrinkage or whatever.

Also kind of interesting to note is that there aren't a ton of what I consider souvenier type things at Tokyo Disney. I wanted a simple key chain for my mom - nothing. They did have an entire Winnie the Pooh housewares shop, though. I tried to take a bunch of photos of the gift shops - I'll find the link to our public FB albums in case you are interested!

I second this. I purchased an amazing Ursula hoddie and tried on a large and it was huge! So i actually purchased a medium.

I prefer my hoodies baggy and that's why I usually purchase a large in the UK/US but a medium was perfect in Disney Sea

Rehashing an old thread sorry, i'm a 14 ladies in AUS, any chance of me getting anything that fits??
Also side/side note, should I bring my own ski gear or will the hire places for snow have XXXXXXXXL stuff for me??

One thing I noticed is that there really wasn't any tshirts I was willing to buy and wear back at home.

There are some very crazy prints with tons of colors, that the Japanese wear to theme themselves with the rest of their group, but not something I'd wear at home. There was very little variety in what was sold throughout the parks.

I couldn't find any normal solid t-shirts with Tokyo Disney or Disney Sea on them, and none that said MiraCosta.
