T-Shirt Question

I made three t-shirts this past weekend, and I was initially so excited about them. I used transfers and followed the manufacturers directions. As stated, after 24 hours, I washed the finished shirts, inside-out--then immediately took them out to hang and drip-dry.

However, I noticed that the design was cracking already.:confused3 Any ideas why? Can I put a towel over it, and re-iron over it to press/seal down the cracked area? What might I have done wrong, so I don't repeat the same mistakes?

Thanks

This is the reason I gave up on the iron-ons a long time ago...I do a variety of the tie-dye shirts and occasionally have air-brushed ones made. I am thinking about looking into screen-printing at home.

Hope someone has a solution

I had the same issue last year with some shirts for my DD :confused3 I don't think you can fix them. Sorry

Is there any other way one can personalize a shirt easily at home? I need 5 build a bear shirts that say Mackinaw Island 2010

What kind of transfers did you use? Perhaps call the manufacturer?

You might try covering them with parchment paper and pressing them again.

I have tried several iron on transfers with no luck, then i was pointed to Amy's transfers .... www.amymicky.com and they are simple to use, no flipping images just print! And they have held up...no cracking or buckling.

I would try them before you give up on the iron on transfers!! The creative Disign forum has so many talented people and all so willing to disign anything you can think of!! :)

I am totally bummed out because I've just done 4 t-shirts and after washing, they turned color.

You can easily see the whitish transfer paper (which was invisible before I washed them).

AND the black color on just one of the t-shirts completely bleached out!

If you ever find out what causes this, I would like to know too.

I have done transfers before (10 gray sweatshirts, 8 yellow t-shirts another time, and 4 yellow t-shirts another time) without ANY problem at all.

Now, it's 2 days before our trip, and all this money and time spent for nothing.
