I hate to toot my own horn (but I'm gonna).
We made t-shirts using my name tag designs for our Disneyland trip this weekend, and we are SOOOO glad we did. I didn't know how much it would affect our trip. I'll probably post a full trip report in the DL forum, but here are some highlights.
On Thanksgiving all 7 of us (Me, DW, DS, MIL, SIL, BIL, Nephew) had our names on our shirts.
The boys had their's front & center.
The grownups had their's over the heart.
On Friday, just the boys, myself & BIL had name tags (and the girls were jealous).
I found out from a castmember, that while my Celebrate design is really cool (my words, not hers), it's not even close to what they will be using next year....because, they won't be getting new name tags. The "Where Dreams Come True" tags will still be used.
On Saturday, we switched to Christmas.
Here's Elastagirl admiring our handywork:
All the CMs seemed to love the tags. And the boys loved being called my their names. For us grownups, it took a little getting used to (and was a little unsettling when some guy called me by name when we passed in the men's room
).
The best part came on Friday afternoon during the Christmas Fantasy Parade.
At the end of the parade is Santa (of course). As he proceeds down the parade route, he waves and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas, says hello to people, etc (he has a microphone hidden in his beard or something). Well as he passed us, he looks over and shouts out "Merry Christmas, Joshua. Have you been a good boy? Merry Christmas, Westley."
I was speechless, the boys were in awe (and I think MIL was crying). You wouldn't think that $3.50 shirts from WalMart and some leftover iron-on paper, could do that.
My wife says we have to have shirts for every trip now. I think I've created a monster.
