Good Friday evening,

Just a quick question, as I'm not sure how or where to start with this...

I am planning a family trip to WDW in December at a DVC resort. It will be the first trip we make to WDW without my DW, who sadly passed away 6 weeks ago. Susan who introduced me to Disney when we got married and got me hooked! We have gone at least once a year, often twice a year. So needless to day, this first trip will not be easy.

I want to make sure the children (DS11 and DD4) have a good time, during the Christmas celebrations. And I was thinking a unique shirt would be a good start to that. That's where my ideas basically end and my foggy widower's brain takes over.

I just don't know whether a reference to our new angel is a good idea...

I would appreciate any help to further guide me. Thank you so much.

First - let me offer my condolences - I am so sorry for your loss

I think it would be very appropriate to honor her - I just made a design for someone who lost their son and they had me put a butterfly in the design since he told them butterflies should remind them of him -

do you have something that she loved that I could put in the design for you?

Kate will do a wonderful job creating a design for you but I just had to post and say that I'm so sorry for your loss! I hope that your trip in December is a good one even though it will be bitter sweet!

My sympathies to you and your family.

You have the Queen of the DDA helping you and you will have a wonderful design. :grouphug:

I am so sorry for your loss :grouphug: I agree with everyone else, Kate makes wonderful designs!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you find exactly what you're looking for and that you and your children have a magical trip. I think it's a beautiful way to honor your DW.

Art - I'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm sure this trip is going to be very difficult for you and your children. Kate will come up with something wonderful to honor your wife and bring a little magic to your vacation. Know that Susan will be smiling down on you all!

Good Saturday everyone, and thank you so much for the condolences. I also really appreciate the design help Kate.

We were her true loves first and foremost (of course). She was devoted to her church and the christian school that our children go to. For fun, her fave Disney character is Donald. She enjoyed car racing (watching) and our WDW vacations - she was the master planner which has me at a loss for our December trip.

At her funeral service we told a story for the kids, about water bugs changing into dragonflies. It was a really nice way to explain what happened to Susan, to the children. The dragonfly has since taken on very special meaning to us.

Art, I want to express my sorrow at your loss. Losing a love is never easy! You are in great hands with Kate at the helm! The designs she does are inspired and fun. I would also recommend that you let us help you plan your trip! There are so many ladies (and a few gents) that are members of our DDA family, and their combined WDW hours are legion! They love to plan and prepare. And we totally love to help out new friends. Please let us help you! Please, please, please!!!!!

I just wanted to offer my condolences as well. This must be such a hard time for you and your children. :grouphug: :grouphug: I hope your trip is completely magical.

Art -- I just wanted to add my thoughts and prayers for you and your children. This is the 11th year that my family has celebrated Christmas at WDW so if you think of anything you need help with, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask.

I just wanted to offer my condolences for your loss.

I hope you didn't think I forgot you- I came up with two - if they aren't what you had in mind - let me know

I went with a subtle design - so that if you did not want to talk about it - you would not have to - but so that you would know what it meant -

if you want it with more reference to her or Christmas oriented - PLEASE let me know!!

Art - I'm so sorry to hear about your wife's passing. God Bless you and your family!

The designs are beautiful. I especially like the pic of Mickey holding the crystal ball with the dragonfly and castle in it...

Art, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you have a magical trip in December. You are in the best of hands here with Kate in the driver's seat. Love the Mickey with the globe. Best of luck to you and your family.

Art, I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like she was a very special woman.

Those designs are so sweet.

I am so sorry for your loss....I cant imagine what you are going through just know that there are people out there praying for you and your family.

The design of Mickey holding the ball with the dragonfly in it made me cry, I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face, That is the most touching Disney design I have ever seen you are truly talented!!!

In awe,
Monica

Kate,

I have a soft spot for Fantasia Mickey and water balls. It has taken me some time to concentrate on a response without getting all teary. Thank you so much for your work on this, it is quite wonderful!

While I initially started thinking the picture should be Christmassy, your design will allow the shirt to be used year round.

I think subtlety is a good thing, the picture should be seen most with any print smaller - just as you have it. That makes it meaningful for me, but unobtrusive.

I was thinking of having the print read something like this:
Walt Disney World 2006
Where memories live
in Peace, Joy and Love
- although, maybe the front should read
Walt Disney World
Christmas 2006
and I can add on the back: Where memories live
in Peace, Joy and Love

I'm not sure if what I am saying makes sense. I'd love to know what you think!

Thanks again Kate, it is really nice to see this come together!
