So I picked up this shirt for DS today on clearance.

We've been talking a lot about matching outfits or coordinating outfits. WDYT of DH having a yellow shirt that says "A little Mickey" (with a Mickey Face), me having a red shirt that says "A little Minnie" (and a Minnie face)and then DS having this tie-dye shirt that says "A whole lot of Goofy" with a Goofy Face.

I'm ok with silhouettes or picture faces, I honestly don't know what would look better. I think that the silhouettes would be fine on the plain shirts (being simple and classic outlines) but I worry that the Goofy one would look weird. But in the same tone, I worry that having Goofy's picture would be too busy with the tie-dye.

Does this make sense? Would it be funny or confusing?

I think it would be adorable! I hope someone can come up with a cute design for you.

Oooo!!! GREAT IDEA!!!!!!

That shirt will look fantastic with a Goofy stencil!!

This is my suggestion... Forget iron-on. This project is screaming for stenciling!! :goodvibes:

1) Google "Goofy Pumpkin Template". You'll find a great stencil image. It's only 240 x 240 dpi, which isn't great for printing, but will be just fine for this.

2) Then buy freezer paper. (it's regular paper with a plastic coating on one side.)

3) Cut the freezer paper into 8.5" x 11" and print the image, scaling it to the size you want, on an INJET printer on the paper side. (I'd test it first on plain paper to make sure it printed the size I wanted.)

4) Use an exacto knife (with cutting mat) to cut out the design. (I got a new super-pointy one, it was perfect.)

5) Iron freezer paper onto the shirt and then dab fabric paint (wiping might get paint under the edges of the paper). Then be sure to heat set the fabric paint.

I made a tigger shirt for my daughter recently using this technique for the first time and it looks SO COOL!!!

For a really good tutorial on freezer paper stencils, google "freezer paper stencil president's day". The first option should be "TUTORIAL: President’s Day shirts ("Intermediate" Freezer Paper Stenciling)" That's the one. It gives great advice to be a fairly complicated job the first time.

HAVE FUN!!
