Has anyone else tried T-Rex yet?
I have been there four times now, each time the food has been great.
Fun place to take a group.

We went on Sunday 4-11. I loved the atmosphere. Normally I'm not one for loud restaurants but we sat in the ice room so I think that helped a little bit with the noise level. We didn't have kids in our party but from looking around at other tables the kids seems fascinated by the place.

The food was all good except for their rotissiere chicken. DH ordered the chicken/ribs combo and the chicken was too dry for him to finish. And for him to not clean his plate, it had to be bad. I had a salad with strawberries, cranberries, glazed pecans, goat cheese....it was so good EXCEPT I had them add chicken and it turned out to be the same dry chicken that was on my husbands plate. My sis got a sandwich with waffle fries which she said was excellent and my dad ordered pork chops I think. Don't quite remember but I know he enjoyed it.

We also had an appetizer. The dips and chips. One was a queso dip and the other the artichoke and shrimp. Both yummy. We all wanted to share one of the Volcano desserts. A lot of tables around us got them and they looked great, but we were stuffed.

Wow I guess I just turned my comment into a mini review! I'm sure we will eat there again as we go to Downtown a lot. For a Sunday evening during Spring Break time, we were seated pretty fast without having a reservation so that was a bonus.

Love it! Even if it's noisy and my son(13) and his entourage are somewhat a little old to really appreciate it. Wish it had been around when he was younger, we'll eat there non the less. The food is great much better than Rainforest. Our server was very good and pleasant. We had the dips as well, we even asked for more tortilla chips to finish the dip and they were brought quickly. The French onion soup is good, the mahi-mahi sandwich was really good and they will make it the way you want. The youg man who ordered it doesn't like seasonings or sauces so they plain grilled it as he had asked. Two fo us had this monstreous pot pie that could ahave easily fed 2 people, it was full of the rotiserrie chicken breast, fresh vegies and creamy sauce, thankfully not dry. This June we plan on sharing our entrees, and no appetizer, in the hopes we still have room for their signature dessert, the Erupting Volcanoe, chocolate brownies, ice cream, it smokes, we saw it pass by many times while we ate but alas we had no room for it!

We went for the first time this past March. We were a group of 25 ( arranged with Group sales ). We had an amazing time. Enjoyed the food and the service was great.

I thought the atmosphere was excellent and we really enjoyed the dessert (The Chocolate Extinction) but our meals were just "okay" in my opinion. But I would certainly recommend it for anybody that wants to have a fun experience!

I've never eaten there, but my boyfriend and I love to go sit at the bar and have a few drinks! We absolutely love the theming and it's just a fun place to hang out!

we have been 4 times too and love it. my dh and i always share the colossal nachos(plenty for both of us) and my dd loves the dino chicken bites. we will be going there again in May!!

We just LOVE it, the food the drinks the restaurant it self! I dont normally care for chicken fried steak but DH got it last time and it was delicious I already know thats what Im getting when we go in Sept! If you havent tried cottontini you got to its Yummy plus you get to take home a souvenier shaker glass!

I also LOVE that they bring all the leftovers to AK for the animals how cool is that?

We ate there last trip and are going again this time. The food and service were much better than the times I've been to RFC. We took turns walking DS and DD around the restaurant to look at all of the dinosaurs. Both of them loved it.

Which animals are eating leftover half eaten human food?

I thought the food was barely tollerable (Parmesean Shrimp). I took maybe 1 or two bites of my dish and never picked up the fork again. DH's Chicken Fried Steak was "rubbery." He never complains about CFS. The sweet tea was sickeningly sweet. The Chip & Dip Appetizers was ok and the burgers had by my kids were just OK. Really nobody liked their food at all. The atmosphere is cool. I think food taste is not even as good as Rain Forest and it's nowhere near my favorite. If we went again, we would only go for appetizers, drinks & dessert. BTW, we are not picky at all. I would have to rate this as one of the worst tasting meals I have ever had at WDW. Other places that get bad reviews we more often than not like...but we don't go to Disney for the food. To us it's more about the atmosphere and the general feeling of being at Disney that makes most meals there good. I can't vouch for the 5 stars, but we have eaten at tons of park and resort sit downs and for the most part, this is the general family concensus...There are a few exceptions.

liked it enough that we are going back this June.
We shared a couple of the larger platters (megamesobones?? and something else with chicken and a kids pizza, followed by the volcano). They weren't the "best" meals we've ever had, but we found everything tasty and enjoyed our meal. Had a fantastic waiter.
I didn't find the noise outrageous, but we were in the ice room, might be different in the other areas.
The kids (11,10,8 at the time) really enjoyed it, but it was DH who asked if I was getting reservations for our trip in June. ;)

I am excited to try it out when we go in Sept! I am keeping it a surprise from our boys, as they love Dinos and we will do build a dino when we are finished!

The meal will be fairly cheap as we have $25 gc that a sweet DISser gave me, and I plan on having another $50 from MyPoints in a few weeks!!!!!! Both boys have $25 Build A Bear GC from their b-days which we will take with us!

The food was okay and the kids loved building their dinos......BUT...two words....chocolate extinction!!!!! Yummy!!!! :)

I have been there and thought the place was too hectic and the food was very below average. If you like good well prepared food this is not the place to go.

We have girls and they were not as impressed. My husband and I thought it was really cool but we have a touch of nerd in us. We like dinos.

I heard that the T-Rex is not on the Disney Dining plan.

We are going there for the first time in June. I know the food probably won't be great, but really it's about the atmosphere. My boys will love it. Of course so will the adults!

We went last September. We like the atmosphere and are glad we did it onece but won't be back. We found the food to be OK at best and very overpriced. There was no lunch menu so we ordered from the dinner menu, paid dinner prices, and received dinner portions. We ended up sharing a combo meal. I was so uninterested in the food that I ended up spending most of the time taking pictures areound thee place. Great concept, worth seeing , but don't go for the food, and be prepared to spend some $.
